This is a hostel but it's fabulous! Modern and stylish. We had an en-suite room with huge windows and incredible views over the sea and neighbouring island. The bathroom was enormous, and more luxurious than pretty much any of the hotels we stayed in during our trip. The room was clean and comfortable and there was a kitchen area with crockery, cutlery and cooking facilities we could use. There was a breakfast package of locally made granola and milk which you could buy from the front desk. The town was less than a 5 minute bike ride from the hostel and had plenty of restaurants, an interesting shrine and an art gallery. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful, especially when helping us to arrange the baggage courier service. It was the perfect place to stopover while doing the Shimanami Kaido bike ride. Would highly recommend this place.

Our hosts were very nice, helped us with any questions, picked us up from the ferry (saving us a 15 minute walk with out luggage) and gave us and the kids delicious Japanse candy and snacks. They also speak really good English. Highly recommend!

This property is great if you have a car . It is run by a very kind host and we had excellent japanese breakfasts and dinners that she cooked for us . It is good to do this as there is no other restaurants close by . We rented electric assist bikes at sunset beach for the day . Also highly recommended is the Hirayama uko art museum and hill of hope and Buddhist temple at sedota - both just breathtaking and unexpected. The architectural museum at onomichi is underwhelming

The host could not have been friendlier, showed us around the house gave us tips on where to go and where to eat. The property was spotless and the location is a dream. The host has excellent English which makes everything so much easier. I wholeheartedly recommend this location for a holiday. We will certainly be going back if we are in the region again.

It was amazing! The most beautiful hostel I’ve ever stayed. So unique and traditional and staff very kind. It is a perfect location, in the center of Onomichi and 10min walk from the station!

    Very helpful and friendly owner. Excellent shower facility with various cosmetics. Kitchen with microoven, toaster and ample supply of forks, knives, tea and coffee. Very quiet place. 10 minutes walk to Kosanji, 1 minute to Shotengai (main street with shopping and restaurants.). Just 2 minutes to obachan shop selling the best and the cheapest lemons and mikans (if you buy close to Kosanji you will pay 100%-200% more). Excellent price for value.

    My favorite place I've been staying at so far. Very charming and warm! Like the City of Onomichi itself. Tucked away in the seemingly endless Hondori Shopping Arcade but quiet nonetheless. I will be back.

    The place is quiet strange and very nice in the same time. The place is kind of block in the past, lot of Mangas in the room gave the place a atmosphere of an old child bedroom. The staff is very kind. The place in a narrow street is very charming. Onomichi is a charming city.
