Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

My family of 4 had a private room with 4 bunks and our own bathroom. The restaurant attached was fantastic and convenient. The train station is a ten minute walk through a beautiful quiet neighborhood.

Firstly the host was really welcoming and nice. It’s quite unique to be able to talk to a local so much :) The room was big with comfortable beds and more than enough space. The breakfast was really good (especially the coffee which we found hard to find any other place) The hotels location was ideal for us as it’s close to the ferry, the Main Street and all of the main attractions. The price is a bit steep, but absolutelly worth it!

Overall this was better than some private accommodations I have stayed in the past. The hostel room only has 6 beds. The bathrooms were clean and specious. Really enjoyed. Bed was nice after sleeping on wood tile for 3 days.

He gave us some fresh fruit from his garden that tasted amazing and offered to drive us to the ferry twice! We can only recommend this guesthouse, everything was great!

Kusunoki for women-only guesthouse se află în Fukuyama, la 8,4 km de Shinsho-ji Temple, și pune la dispoziție WiFi gratuit și parcare privată gratuită. Incredibly clean and lots of privacy. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable. Highly recommend staying here!

The location is simply stunning, the guesthouse sits peacefully on the seafront of tranquil Mukaishima Island, surrounded by lush vegetation and easily accessible by car. It's the perfect destination if you're cycling along the Shimanami Kaido. Youko is an incredible host, warm, welcoming, and exceptionally helpful. She provided excellent recommendations for bike rentals, local restaurants, and activities, and every day left thoughtful notes at reception highlighting events happening in the area. When we accidentally left our backpack (with passports inside!) at the guesthouse, she promptly mailed it to our next destination without hesitation. Our 8-year-old daughter, Alice, loved the play area in the communal dining space, bouncing on the trampoline in the garden, and meeting the resident animals: friendly sheep, two charming cats, and Maroon, the adorable dog. The property itself is spotless. We stayed in one of the Japanese-style rooms, which felt spacious by Japanese standards, and offered spectacular views over the bay. The rooftop terrace was another highlight for us. We'd wholeheartedly recommend staying here, it’s truly a special place.

Additionally, the host's proficiency in English made communication effortless and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a memorable and authentic Japanese accommodation experience.
