Excellent location. There is a nice bistro just next door. Within walking distance of the train station. Monica is excellent. Even though some items were not initially available she quickly provided them upon request. Very spacious and comfortable house.

Really excellent apartment hotel. It felt very safe (there is a main door and it doesn't open directly onto street) and the general location was perfectly fine if you have a car. About an hour/hour and a half to all the top spots in the region like lake Como and verzasca valley etc. Just make sure to leave early to avoid traffic; the main road through the town seems to be the main road for everyone traveling to Varese from Ticino and it can get a little congested. The room was really new, and clean. The kitchen amenities were great and everything we could have needed in terms of cookware was available. A bigger container of salt/cooking oil/dish soap would've been helpful for a long stay, but you can get everything you need in the department stores nearby. Bed was comfortable, and the TV had a very decent selection of channels. It was overall one of the best apartment style hotels we've stayed in. It was probably the newest/nicest building in the entire town. 10-15 minute walk to the train station which is also fair, and I would recommend that if you just want to day trip to Lugano as parking there isn't ideal. You can also easily take the train to Milan for a day. The buses from the train station later at night were also fine and drop you off very close to the hotel. The pizza place down the road was quite nice and also fairly priced for Swizterland. The pastry shop right next to it was also pleasant.

Most likely this is the best Apartment I have ever stayed at! Lovely Hosts, lovely spacious house and everything was thought of! The kitchen was well equipped. The living room and the terrace are amazing. Everything is a mixture of quite antique lookin, but very stylish furniture and newly renovated elements (e.g. like the lighting in the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom). There are so many lovely decorated details, every day you will find something new, because there is so much thought and love put into this house. It is also perfect for a bigger group or family, although we enjoyed the apartment as a couple as well. The access by car and parking is super easy. Even a Netflix Account for the guests is available. The hosts made us feel welcome and offered their help whenever we needed it. We will definitely visit again!! 😍

We liked everything about our stay in Il Pioppo Antico! The apartment is very spacious, nicely decorated, charismatic, and comfortable. Absolutely beautiful terrace with breathtaking view was our preferred space to spend the time. The private garden around the house is very nice to walk around in the company of 4 friendly tailed hosts - beautiful dogs 🙂 The location is perfect. Lakes Como, Maggiore, and Lugano, all are less than 1 hour drive away. Simona, our host, made our short vacation extremely pleasant and trouble-free. Her recommendations about places to visit, restaurants to eat have been the main highlights of our stay. We already plan to come back!

It was ideal for a stop because we could make self check in through the night. First we did not really understand how to to it, but we got answer immediately from Riarel. So we could make self check in easily. There is all you need, towels, toilet articles, .. all super clean . The breakfast was also good . You can make coffee, have croissants or cornflakes, Nutella, Marmelade Super good bed to sleep in :)
