Our visit to Monschau and the apartment, were the highlight of our trip! We stayed in the atmospheric, 4th floor, roof apartment and the stairs were just a small price to pay. I loved peeping out of the window - on a small step! We do 'handluggage only', so could manage well... Very nice kitchen, good coffee, dining & sitting areas.

Everything was amazing! We were greeted by Sasha the owner. He showed us the shared kitchen and lounge area and arranged our breakfast for the following day - his wife creates baskets with bread, meats and cheeses, jams, yogurt, eggs, etc. It was DELICIOUS! Our room was pretty and spacious with a small couch for relaxing. The bathroom was large and the shower was great. The bed was soooo comfortable with plenty of pillows. I enjoyed that it’s not a regular hotel. At check in you are given your room key and a front door key. The entryway is impressive. In the communal kitchen you are welcome to take items from the fridge and put money into the small “trust box” in your room for whatever you take. Breakfast is paid for the same way. Monachau offers so much to explore and experience and I hope to stay here again if I get to return.
