A very cool 1800's house sitting on a hill overlooking the Leynar River and the ocean. House felt like you were staying in your Scandinavian grandmother's house. Full of all sorts of trinkets, old maps, photos, etc. My wife loved exploring and finding all sorts of stuff. The bed was very comfy. The shower had good hot water and good water pressure. TV was almost all Danish but someone had left their Netflix account and that got us through. Kitchen worked great, excellent, unscratched fry pan. good stock pots and more dishes and silverware than you will ever use. Good fridge and freezer. Big dining table made it easy for us to spread out. Comfy couches put me to sleep at night. Don't miss the sauna in the basement, we took one almost every night and loved it. Nice washer and dryer setup as well.

The house has a big terrace and a fantastic view, the interior is really cozy and the living room has big windows. We truly felt like in a Nordic house, and our stay was great. Bonus points for the fireplace and the communication with the host.

If you are visiting the Faroe Islands, this is where you want to stay! You will fall in love with this cozy, traditional house (think Faroese cottagecore) located in the quiet village of Kvívík and not ever want to leave. The location is perfect for exploring the Faroes. Tórshavn is 25 minutes away by car, and the subsea tunnel to Vágar is right around the corner. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We spent four nights at this house, and cannot wait to return! Useful things to know: The ceilings are a bit low, but I am 188cm tall (6ft 2in) and was completely comfortable. The shower is located in the basement, which is accessed either from outside or through a hatch in the kitchen floor. The nearest grocery store is in Vestmanna, which is about 10 minutes away by car.
