This charming, 600-year-old house in a pretty French village was a perfect stay for me and my parents. The hosts, Chris and Sylvia, were an incredibly friendly and helpful couple, providing us with a delicious French breakfast in the morning. The swimming pool and the garden were such a blessing during a hot French summer, and I can't wait to return for another stay here.

Superb, Chateau de Rocheau is an opportunity to get away from ubiquitous, sterile travel hotels. It can be best described as shabby chic, and a vsit to bygone eras. But look beyond that and you notice the care taken and attention to detail. Madame, the owner is a star, she is very engaging and attentive and clearly has a passion for her chateau. Situated in extensive grounds which have been adapted for medieval/history events for children. A donkey, sheep, ducks, geese and a peacock freely roam the grounds. We enjoyed a very good French breakfast, which set us up nicely for our onwards travel and we look forward to our stay on our home bound journey.
