This is the one of the most fabulous and authentic accommodations we have stayed in. It’s part of an old winery estate that’s been beautifully restored and decorated. The bedrooms are delightful, with comfy beds and lovely view. The location was perfect for us. We could park our car right out the front, walk the canal du midi in the morning (directly behind property) and head a few minutes into town for breakfast at a cafe on the canal. The river Aude is a 3 min walk away too. It has a coffee machine and a great kitchen, so it’s self sufficient if you want to eat there. We sat out on the terrace with a cheese plate, as it was too lovely to leave once we had arrived. Also a dining table inside. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The food paired with the wine was great. Each course came with its wine. We discovered new wines that hd never tried before and liked all. The hostess and the host were also very friendly and nice. The castle and its surroundings is beautiful and allows the guest to imagine living during the medieval period.

We booked last minute and it worked out great. You get a message explaining how everything works and how to access the apartment with a code. The apartment is fully equipped with everything. The location is great, quiet street just 8 minutes from the castle. A tip: coming from the apartment to the castle you will be able to park 700m from the castle entrance for free, as that zone is still a „normal“ residential zone and not the historic center. Look for the post office, which is the last option to park for free.

Very good communication. Great location. Everything is as described. The kids enjoyed the pool and playing tennis in the compound.

The landlady was so welcoming and helpful. The cottage is quaint and quirky and homely and exquisitely French! There was secure parking for our car. The breakfast was freshly made by the landlady and for dinner there are many restaurants along the canal within easy walking distance.
