Well worth the short detour to Portmahomack; super comfortable room with smart on-suite. Copious hot water and heating to take the chill of the night air. Jennie's catering was top notch (we had problems with dinner at the Castle Hotel which booked us a dinner slot on a closed night !!) and we appreciated the stand in dinner provided (wonderful steak pie). The full breakfast was beyond our appetites, but the waffles and fruit hit the spot. Many thanks Jennie.

Wonderful location, great breakfast with beachviews, probably the most comfortable bed of our trip. Very helpful hostess. We loved it there. Even had the chance to enjoy a great concert of Scottish musicians nearby.

Exceptionally thought out, beautifully presented. Location, five minutes from Tain but could give Vicki’s horses a scratch on the nose in the morning. So peaceful and quiet. We stay in holiday rentals 2 to 3 months a year all over the world. This is a very, very rare 10 out of 10. And Vicki is not such a bad host either! Though one of the horses did give her a nasty bight. This is a great taste of Highland ‘true local’ without the kilts

The Castle Hotel is located in a quiet little town right beside the water. It was exactly what I envisioned. We were able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns and wind down every evening with a walk along the shore. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was filling, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
