The Blue Sky villa is everything in the photos. And more. Nothing quite captures the magnificent sunsets over the Cretan mountain vista from the balcony. Host Alexandros is very attentive: the pool was regularly cleaned, garden tidied and one minor plumbing problem (plug missing from lovely whirlpool bath) fixed within 24h. Fresh local fruit regularly appeared as a gift. The villa is located only a mile from the best family-run taverna in Crete. It has easy road access for exploring bustling capital Herkalion with its marvellous Venetian walls & castle; visiting ancient sites & museums; relaxing on gorgeous beaches. We even popped into the local cave on our last afternoon - this would have been a mega-tourist venue in the UK, but in Cretan style, with so many archaeological riches, it was just tucked up a mountain track near a goat farm. This has been a post-lockdown soul-restoring holiday with our two teenage sons. Yesterday I popped to the shop across the road and got chatting to a local aircraft engineer, saying how much I’d miss the soul-restoring vistas & vibe of Crete. He replied: “the soul is like a garden: you need to plant lots of beautiful flowers & get rid of the weeds”. This holiday has done just that.

Beautiful location, quiet but close to tavernas and beaches using a car. One local taverna 2 minutes walk - great food at excellent prices ! Spacious, clean and well equipped with a lovely outside spaces and pool Plenty large enough for 4 adults and 2 children. Lovely outside eating area overlooking the pool Great air conditioning which was very welcome during the heatwave !

The location was fantastic with the mountains views.The property it's very clean and modern.The owners are so friendly and very welcoming. It's remote area,so you need to have your transport to get around.
