From the moment we arrived it was wonderful, the property is breath taking. The location is both private and well located for local amenities ( we had hire cars ) The owner was on site on our time of arrival and was there for anything we needed. The property is well equipped with anything you might need and it is exceptionally clean. The Gardens are beautiful and the out door cooking area is a must , we took a large group and spent time BBQ or using the Pizza oven. The owner was so lovely and came with fresh eggs and veg from the garden around the property and was so kind and generous , it really made our stay special. The pool is warm and private and the lights in the evening are beautiful. If you enjoy nature there is an abundance of birds/ birds of prey and lizards in the gardens , chickens under the olive / fruit trees ( we made our own lemon curd with fresh lemons from the garden and eggs from the chickens which the owner left for us, along with some of her amazing cooking which was a delight to eat. Its possibly the most relaxing place in the world. Thank you so much for this special experience and I hope many guests come to appreciate the amazing hospitality of this very special family.

An enormous amount of space in this beautifully restored old stone house, spread across two floors with a lovely courtyard and a terrace. A 2-3 minute drive down into Margarites village with its ceramics shops and tavernas.

We stayed 2 weeks from the beginning of August. From the first days until the last everything was perfect. The owner Ritsa was a great host and always quick to reply to any question we had. The property is beautiful, spacious, and situated in a quiet place within walking distance to a pretty village where you can explore the artisan shops and pickup groceries, and visit the many tavernas. The pool is great, and it’s cleaned regularly. The house has a washing machine, and fully equipped kitchen. There is an outside barbecue area which is handy. It was our third time in Crete and we’ve always stayed in lovely places, but Margaritas has won a special place in our hearts. All the people we met in the village were very friendly and welcoming. If you decide to visit we strongly recommend Taverna Giannousakis (it’s not easily found on the map) Eleni and her grandson Dionysus will serve you the best and most genuine Greek specialities (and we’ve tried most of the Tavernas here so this is a very strong recommendation). The local coffee shop (sweet Margarites) is a lovely stop for breakfast or any refreshment and have very friendly owners.
