The breakfast was great everyday and the pastries / bread / fruit / cooked food / juice / coffee were all delicious. After eating our breakfast overlooking the beautiful coast we usually enjoyed a quick dip in the pool or time on the beach before heading out on our adventures. We were offered cleaning services every day and all the staff were fantastic to deal with. They put up with our patchy french or could revert to english when we struggled. If we are lucky enough to go to Rodrigues again we will definitely be staying here.

This place was the perfect place for my family and I. We booked months in advance without realising that my cousin was getting married in a lovely place few minutes away from us, making it even easier for us. Kitchen well equipped and spacious. Rooms good size. The house was excellent, the people around were lovely, kind and very helpful. The beach is a few minutes walk away. The owner will go above and beyond to make you have a lovely and memorable stay. Huge Thank you to you Mr Bègue,to your lovely mum and to the lovely sister who came to check on us regularly to make sure we were okay!! Transfer from the airport to the residence was well planned. And we had the sweetest driver ever! (Nani) Honest about places, on time and helpful. Thank you very much 💕 to have made our stay memorable.

It’s tremendously exciting for world travelers to find somewhere very special like Rodrigues Island, 600 km east of Mauritius. Even more intriguing is what the accommodation will be like so far from the populated world. The pick-up from the little airport was faultless despite a common Air Mauritius delay and we were greeted at the Blue Room by John who showed us around and settled us in. The accommodation is simple and entirely unpretentious where everything works, including (now wait for it) wifi that yields, another ‘wait for it’, 320 Mbps! Plenty of water for the shower, hot and cold, with uninterrupted power supply. John can make available a car, a robust 4x4, at rates that, as I told him, are far below market rates. The Blue Room overlooks the somewhat distant Indian ocean that is a short drive away in Anse aux Anglais, down the hill. Restaurant-wise, there’s not a hell of a lot going on in Rodrigues but the local village down the hill offers some animation in the way of two okay eateries and a little grocery store. It’s pretty too. So, it’s a great place to stay (without AC but good fans) and highly recommended indeed. Bravo John!

Beautiful apartment, modern, very clean, spacious and comfortable. The balcony was great to sit on and watch the world go by. Fabien and Christine were outstanding hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay a really good experience. A truly lovely couple!

Mr & Mrs Jameson were very warm and welcoming. The cottage is situated on the high where the view is spectacular over the ocean. The cleanliness was second to none. Owner was helpful and felt home. It was my first time at the Rodrigues and can strong recommend the Eagles Nest Cottage. It’s spacious and can easier accommodate a family of 5. The cottage has a kitchen facility where you can prepare a good feast if you don’t feel like going out.
