Upon arrival we had a warm greet and got showed our rooms. The rooms was beautiful and cozy with heated blankets which came in handy. The rooms were just perfectly suited for our needs.

It's difficult to put into words the amazing time we had at Plotsklaps. The beautiful property is in a perfect location in the Tokai neighborhood of Cape Town, equidistant between downtown and all the attractions around False Bay and Cape Point. It sits beneath a picturesque mountain near many great dining and shopping places as well as the Constantia vineyards and Kirstenbosch botanical garden. Guests stay in a two-story guest cottage next to Dave and Rachael's house, both of which are architectural wonders with their high thatched rooves supported by exposed log beams. Our two kids (aged 9 and 11) slept soundly in the bunkbeds in the downstairs room, with their own bathroom. The master bed upstairs was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. There's a full kitchen (with washer and dryer), dining room, office area, and living room with hundreds of TV channels and DVDs of classic movies. We really appreciated the welcome items of coffee, home-grown eggs, bread, milk, and delicious jams and rusks that Rachael makes herself. It was particularly nice to be able to wash our clothes after a week on safari. The property has a spacious pool and poolside pavilion with a barbecue pit and a large yard where the kids could play soccer and the chickens and cats roamed free. Dave's generator was much appreciated during "load-shedding," i.e., set periods each day when the government-run electric company turns off everyone's electricity because the power plants can't handle the overall demand. Dave and Rachael were fantastic hosts, attending to our every need and providing great recommendations about local activities and dining. They were extremely communicative, always happy to chat about where to go, how to get there, and what to do while there.

Spacious, clean, safe and very conveniently located for accessing all the points of interest in the Cape. Numerous restaurants and cafes close by. Apartment is connected to the hosts’ property but still very private with its own garden/sunbathing patio.

Almondbury Cottage was the perfect fit for us. Excellent fully furnished and equipped house and garden Perfect location to the all sights in and around Cape Town, the beaches, the cape peninsula, wine estates in Stellenbosch, etc. and the airport Top service and advise Lovely family who owns the house and lives on the same ground. Terrific interior and outside area Excellent and protected neighbourhood We felt very much like home from the first second. We‘ll be back!
