You feel like at home with Brian and his family/friends. Lot of kindness and helpfull. You can ask him what you need. He organized our trek in the jungle with Rosyid. It was a great experience with him. We enjoyed our trek, Rosyid explained us everything he could. The evening we laughed a lot. Our stay was just amazing. Great guys ! Thank you for everything

With mountain views, Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa is situated in Bukit Lawang and has a restaurant, full-day security, bar, garden, sun terrace and picnic area. We loved the staff and the quiet and traditional surroundings. We did the Orangutan tour with them and was incredible

Situated in Berastagi, 25 km from Mount Sinabung, Kaesa Homestay features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. The best host I ever had. Upon arrival he instructs you with everything you can do in the city, draws it on the map, gives recommendations and helps with how much what costs and so much more. Location is good, close to the main street. The rooms are basic but nice and clean.

Situated in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys features accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The owner was so kind. Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.

Toba Sunset features free WiFi. Each room has a balcony with views of the lake, rice fields and the surrounding mountains in Tuk Tuk. At Toba Sunset every room is fitted with a seating area. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They helped booking a tour and a driver to Medan. Location is beautiful, WIFI is very good, big beds with good matrasses, big living room, very nice terrace with great view, good breakfast, water for free, only 9 mins walk from harbour

Fun Family Guest House n Jungle Tour is offering accommodation in Bukit Lawang. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Location is perfect, you are in the middle of everything, amazing owners, very kind and helpful, they will even give you welcome drink (tea, coffee or water) and pick you up at the bus station (which i didnt expect), owner is good guide too, definitely worth to stay

Offering views of Mount Sinabung, Nachelle Homestay is a 15-minute walk from the centre of Berastagi. Free internet access is provided in public areas. The people are what define a place. I felt completely at home during my entire stay at Nachelle’s. I arrived late, around 11.30 PM, and Mery kindly turned on the heater, even though it’s typically only operational until 10 PM. She also organized all the excursions I wanted to do in Berastagi. When I inquired about renting a flashlight for the hike because I didn’t bring one, she graciously lent me one. Her husband, Abdy, was incredibly friendly, welcoming and full of humor. Additionally the hike was quite educational as he shared interesting facts about volcanoes and some flora and fauna encountered along the way. Mery’s pizza is also a must-try!

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, pool view and a patio, Balinese Villa in Berastagi is set in Berastagi. This is a beautiful property and without doubt the most luxurious and well maintained property in the area. It is an escape from the busy market town, somewhere to just relax after a day exploring. We were delighted to find such a large well appointed and luxurious villa with great staff. The owner was able to accommodate a request for breakfast and organise dinners for us also (at extra cost) which was great. This property very much has an international feel to it in the way they look after you. We had not planned to spend so much time in the villa but it was so good we spend more time in than out.
