I was greeted with an excited smile by the host’s lovely 5 year old daughter. I was then welcomed warmly into their home with fruit and juice which was freshly prepared. Indika will go out of his way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. He is happy to offer free Tuk tuk rides to the temple and bus station. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I had to take it with me for lunch it was so big. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Towels and soap provided which is a bonus for a backpacker on a budget. I only booked one night and missed out on a second night as they were fully booked. I am not surprised as it’s a great value for money lovely stay. The owner found me alternative accommodation which was a great help.

Hidden Lake Cottages Sigiriya apresenta bicicletas gratuitas, piscina exterior, um jardim e salão partilhado em Sigiriya. Fantastic stay! Wonderful hosts, always ready to help out and full of suggestions on what to visit etc… we stayed 3 nights, could have stayed an extra night. Highly recommended stay, away from the noise and close with nature.

Simoya Nature Park situa-se em Dambulla, a 19 km de Rochedo de Sigiriya e a 22 km de Ruínas do Mosteiro Ritigala. O alojamento dispõe de acomodações com um jardim e acesso Wi-Fi gratuito. We stayed 3 nights at Simoya. Madhu and Sanjee were very welcoming and nothing was too much bother. The room was to a high standard and had everything you needed, including a fridge which was very handy. Breakfast was huge but very tasty and we also ate dinner there for all 3 of the nights we stayed. In all honesty, Im not sure where else we could have eaten in the local area which was at the same quality as Madhu and Sanjee's cooking. We went to the top of Pidurangala rock for an extra fee at sunrise which was well worth the money. We also paid Sanjee for a transfer to Kandy which was at a reasonable rate. Both Sanjee and Madhu were perfect hosts and really lovely people. The one thing I would say that I have found throughout Sri Lanka is to check costs before agreeing to things but that advice goes throughout and everything additional we paid for we felt was worth the money.

Fantastic homestay deep in the jungle. The room was superb- great bed, AC, hot shower. The breakfast was a lovely authentic Sri Lankan meal. The hosts were very accommodating and informative about the area. I felt very welcome. Thanks for everything!

They are very pleasant and friendly. The owner provided the best assistance for our trip. They are quick to contact and respond. Home cooked breakfast was the best. Recommended for those who want to experience local Sri Lankan culture. I would like to thank the owner and his family for helping me with my trip over the past two days.

Shan Mango Homestay localiza-se em Sigiriya, a 5,5 km de Rochedo de Sigiriya e a 8,7 km de Ruínas do Mosteiro Ritigala, e fornece acomodações com acesso Wi-Fi gratuito e um jardim com um terraço, além... We loved our stay at the Shan Mango Homestay and would highly recommend it! The hosts, Chulané and Sugath, are incredibly nice and we felt very welcome. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace or taking a dip in the pool which is surrounded by a beautiful garden full of mango trees. The breakfast was also great. Chulané and Sugath served different Sri Lankan specialties, eggs, toast and fresh fruit (including self-grown mangos of course) every morning. Our highlight was cooking together with the family. We learned how to prepare sambol and 4 different curries - and everything was delicious! We also went on a great jeep safari with Chulané’s cousin where we saw at least 20 elephants :)
