Great location just outside the village, easy walking distance. Very quiet. A few shops, bars, restaurants, everything necessary. Easy by bus from Oviedo. Attractive valley and surrounding mountains - good walks. The house has a very useful entrance hall where muddy walking boots and wet coats can be stored. Antonio very welcoming and helpful.

The proprietor was so welcoming. He prepared our evening meal personally and it was truly delicious - couldn't have asked for better. A wonderful host. The village is really interesting and old...would have liked more time to explore but, sadly, we had to continue our journey. Our little dog was happy too!!

Good and cheap breakfast; very helpful staff who were able to advise on places to visit. Central location overlooking the town square but not too noisy. The room was very spacious and well equipped.

Great location for a few days in Proaza, close to all facilities, cycling and walking routes and bus stop around the corner.

We really enjoyed our stay in El Torreón. The house was quite spacious, clean and well-equipped. The host, Carla is very friendly. It is a good base if you want to explore the Trubia valley or make trips to cities such as Áviles, Gijón or Oviedo. There is a good supermarket near the house. Bike rental is also feasible within walking distance.

Proaza is perfectly located if you want to hike or bike the Senda del Oso, a previous train embankment where the rails were taken away. The casita is in the second row of houses, but there is very few traffic in the village at night anyhow. When we stayed, it was absolutely quiet. The casita was fully equipped, clean and with comfortable beds. It has two bathrooms with showers, all working very well. The whole house seems to have been recently renovated and looks new. Heating is floor heating, which is efficient and heats up fast. If you are looking for a digital detox, you find it here: no TV, no WLAN - on purpose. Check-in was easy, as Celia, who is a great host, met us at the house at the agreed time. She is a lively and friendly person who gave us lots of recommendations what to do, where to go and where to dine. Proaza has various bars and restaurants, a supermarket and even a butcher. So you have all options.

This is a hostel with shared rooms, but my wife and I had two bunk beds in the one room so effectively had a private room and bathroom to ourselves. And as there were no other guests staying there we had the entire place to ourselves. Which made the sleep and stay extremely comfortable and quiet. Our host was very friendly and very helpful (and the two dogs he had were amazingly cute and well behaved). The beds were well made up and the mattress was comfortable. The location is very quiet but has a very comfortable seating area outside. There is also a very peaceful walking trail very close.
