Quinta de Travassinhos is a magical place in the Douro Valley with beautiful views, outstanding ambiance and exceptional hospitality. Helena & Ricardo have painstakingly restored and renovated the property into something rare and special where modern amenities and comfort meet the beauty of a working farm and vineyard. Their kindness and attention to customer service is world class, and is matched by their knowledge of the history of the area and willingness to share the stories of their journey to create their dream. While my partner and I were there, we enjoyed morning hikes through the vineyards, daily trips to regional towns, afternoon dips in the indoor salt water spa pool, and evening dinners where our hosts and staff provided upscale-rustic regional cuisine, local wines and port, and wonderful conversation with both hosts and guests. This will be somewhere we will hopefully be able to revisit in the coming years as it truly is one of our favourites of all time!

Very nice and comfortable house. Very nice hosts. It was clean and we'll organized. Easy parking. Pretty quiet area. It was refreshingly cool.

A good balance between traditional house and decor with comfort and functionality. The hosts were great, very accommodating.. Excellent view and pool. The house design and furniture brought us back to good old memories, with a touch of refinement and creativity. Very tasty fruit, peaches and maracuja, also excellent tomatoes.

What an amazing place! From the glass of port wine offered as we checked in, to the complimentary afternoon tea in the afternoon through to the delicious fresh breakfast this morning with lots of choice. Not to mention the food we had last night. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly helpful staff. We received a free room upgrade with a view over the vineyards.The room was very well equipped- warm and comfortable with excellent decor. Highly recommended and amazing value for what we paid!!

The house is a palace in the middle of the mountains, amazingly beautiful. You feel like a king. The kitchen is great to have a meal with friends and is well equipped. (The main fridge doesn't work, but they have a small fridge, and the dishwasher doesn't work, that's a bummer)
