The cottage was wonderful — the best accommodation we had in Iceland! Everything we needed was available: dishes, coffee, oil, and many other thoughtful details. Everything was so well organized and carefully prepared. An additional benefit is the perfect location to watch the Northern Lights and the sunrise. The view is absolutely wonderful!

Monica, the wonderful host, has truly thought of everything. Her experience in hospitality really shines through- from the spotless cleanliness and order to the little notes and labels that make everything feel easy and welcoming. The check-in was clear, simple, and completely stress-free, which set the tone for a relaxing stay. There’s a warm, authentic atmosphere here, yet it’s kept at the standard of a hotel. On top of that, the location is perfect. Stykkishólmur is such a beautiful little town, with colorful houses, a charming harbor, and a small hilltop offering a lovely viewpoint over the town. Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Fun dog. Good protector against the swans and ducks by the lake.
