This place is truly special, and I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to come and stay here. From the moment we arrived, the energy was calm, welcoming, and deeply peaceful. The location itself is incredibly serene, making it the perfect place to slow down and really experience Senegal. Ivan, the owner (Belgian), was remarkably friendly and genuine. He went out of his way to make sure we were always comfortable and well taken care of. Beyond that, he was a wonderful person to talk to about Senegalese culture — thoughtful, open, and clearly passionate about the place and its people. While the food on the menu was very good and there was a great selection of drinks, my absolute highlight was something far more meaningful: sharing Chebou Jën, the national dish, with the entire staff right on the beach. That moment was exceptional — communal, joyful, and deeply human. It was genuinely the tastiest Chebou Jën I’ve ever had, and the generosity was incredible. They made sure I had plenty of fish, and the delicious tamarind sauce. Even my girlfriend, who was initially a little hesitant, ended up loving it. Another beautiful moment was on the day of our departure, when a fantastic local musician played live music — a perfect, soulful way to say goodbye. What really stood out was the staff: playful, warm, endlessly kind. They laughed with us, took wonderful care of us, and even went out of their way to help me practise my French, turning it into something fun and memorable rather than intimidating. This is not just a place to stay — it’s a place with soul. Exceptional hospitality, generosity of spirit, and unforgettable vibes. I would absolutely return and recommend it without hesitation.

Is out of the tourist area and you are not in a cocoon where you don't see the surrounding. I felt really safe and comfortable at all times. + The staff is the best. Heart warming welcome always there for you in case you need help. + Room amazing. You have all you need and super super clean and comfortable. + Breakfast simple but more you don't need. It would be nice to have some fruit for breakfast though. + Swimming pool was definitely my favorite asset. + Price is top.

Rooms are beautifully decorated with local fabrics. spacious room with separate living area and great storage for all my luggage, clothing and purchases. separate toilet. shower was hot with great water pressure. the outdoor sitting areas were comfortable and provided enough privacy when needed. open air dining was a delight both day and night. pool was refreshing and clean. the tropical landscaping was absolutely stunning! But the BEST part of my stay: the incomparable hospitality of my hosts, Jean-Pierre and Veronique. I have never felt so well taken care of and in such capable hands anywhere else in the world that I've traveled to. JP and Vero are more than great hosts, they are great people to know and learn from. Genuine, warm, and full of insider knowledge about the area, the language, the culture and the local activities and attractions. JP and Vero helped me find everything I needed in / around Ngaparou from food to excursions to shopping. They helped me avoid tourist traps and even negotiated fair prices for tours, drivers, purchases and more. JP is a great guide and driver as well! I felt so safe on the often treacherous roads with him behind the wheel. Vero and I share a love of books and wax fabrics - I even got to visit a local nursery she volunteers at... a heart-filling experience that I will never forget! I felt so lucky to spend my birthday with these 2 wonderful people. I now think of them more as friends than as hosts. Much love and many thanks to them both!
