This is a great base for an active, out all day every day sort of holiday. The host is lovely and helpful, the bed is comfortable, and it's easy to get to nearby towns or up into the Picos from there. Cangas de Onis is a lovely little market town, Covadonga and a bus ride to the lakes is not to be missed!

Brilliant for families, with a super friendly feel and a lovely play area. Our kids could literally have hung out there all day. The owners were incredibly friendly and very tolerant of our nearly non-existant Spanish. Beautiful countryside and pleasant local walks. A couple of minutes' walk to a canoing adventure office/base and with a small crazy golf. Small local bar and shop nearby. Cangas de Onis is a pleasant 40 min walk along a river path or a quick drive away. The bungalow was very well laid out and equipped - possibly one of the best we have seen with ample storage and limited but excellent quality utensils (possibly the only self catering I have been to with a decent all purpose knife). The best, most comfortable beds we have slept in on our trip. There are communal BBQ facilities and the host has BBQ utensils to borrow (we bought charcoal and matches in a local supermarket).

The apartment has character. The "Bar Sanchez" just below the street is very nice, you can eat there. You can enjoy tables outdoors around the appartment.

I can't say enough good things about Casona Sobrepiedra. Juan was simply incredible as a host. He spent a great deal of time orienting us with a map of the best beaches, hiking areas and places to park that were convenient to Cangas de Onis as well as the bus to get to Covadonga lakes and the many beaches. He was so patient and kind in answering our many questions and our limited Spanish speaking. The breakfast was amazing. Delicious home made chocolate and lemon cake, this life changing tomato spread and lots of other good things including fresh squeezed OJ. Rooms are comfortable and have everything you would need and it is so quiet and peaceful. The place is one of the most spotless I've ever seen. There is a constant lovely scent of dried flowers too. Parking is plentiful as well. We loved it and I'm definitely going to return when I'm next in the area.
