We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it...for so many reasons! The house itself is incredibly well built--it is well insulated, has triple-glazed windows, and is shaded with lovely large trees, so it kept cool even with the upper-90-degree weather we had while we were there! Magali has furnished it with high-end appliances and with everything we needed when we cooked meals at home. Great bathroom, relaxing living area, very comfortable bed...I could go on and on. It did not have English TV channels, but remember, you're in a small French town--go with the flow! The location is superb. It's on the edge of town, looks out to an open field, and is next to a bike path along the Canal de Bruche, which we walked every early morning, and which actually became one of the favorite aspects of our entire 3-week trip! There's some traffic noise during the day on the small road in front of the house, but that didn't bother us--it's all part of the rural nature of the area. Achenheim itself is a great central location for exploring the wines of the Bas Rhin area of Alsace--we tasted at several wineries; don't miss the Robert Blanck or Joseph Gross wineries! We highly recommend staying here!

The apartment is new and well arranged with all the equipment you normally use at home. AC came in handy because we arrived at the hottest day of our roadtrip (42 deg. C) and we got water, snacks, coffee and food already prepared for the next day breakfast with bread arriving in the morning at the door. Parking is also available. A side notice: Google Maps has pointed me to the other side of the house but then I got help from the hosts who directed me in the right direction. We then got the keys, the apartment tour, the instructions but needed to cut short the conversation (sorry about that!) in order to catch an open grocery store in Strasbourg as I did travel with kids, so that meant a bit extra effort in regards to food as everything was closed in the town already as we arrived.
