Great place as a place to explore the amazing mountains lakes and waterfalls.
Note minimal facilities in the village ,NO fresh food / fruit / veg so shop before you go over the pass. Quite a sprawling village with no main centre.
The pass into Theth is hair raising and narrow so not for cautious drivers! Take out full insurance cover on hire cars!
Blue eye is worth the hike as are local waterfalls, take proper shoes for both.
Valbona pass hike is very steep and mostly in shade with amazing views from the top. Plenty of drink stops available on the way up.

The blue eye and grunas waterfall are a must. We rented a car but people we spoke to said it was also easy to hire taxis to get around.
It wasn’t in our plans to do the Theth to Valbona pass but we did hike up to the meadow area that gives 360 views of the mountains and valley and then just went back down.

After hiking the Valbona Pass, we decided to stay for two nights in Theth to be able to fully recover from the hike and have an entire relaxing day in the village. If resting is not your prioirity, I would recommend you visit the local nature spots. But the village itself is a beautiful and unique experience.

Truly a gem of a place to visit.
Truly a gem of a place to visit. We have been to the a Swiss, Italian, Austrian, and French alps and the Albanian Alps are just as beautiful to visit and everything is much more coat effective and more accessible.
Not the same luxuries but also not 1/2 as busy.
