information for us was not easy to get as we had booked an apartment which was wonderful. A student strike stopped us from seeing more, A beautiful,,historical city. cooked some meals by ourselves, not many grocery stores or restaurants in our area. Went to see the childhood home of CHE Gueverra, great information. Not so easy to get to.
Cordoba is a great city with a fascinating past and lively present. It’s the second largest city in Argentina, yet it has only 1/10th of the population of Buenos Aires. A large proportion of its residents is comprised of university students, which gives the city a youthful energy. It’s role in Argentine history is fascinating. History buffs will enjoy visiting the museums and historical sights (many of which are either free or cost a token $20 pesos to visit). La Docta runs a ‘free’ walking tour of the old city daily, which is a good way to get to know the town. Many interesting areas are located outside the city, such as the old Jesuit estancias of Jesus Maria and Santa Catalina. Both are worth the visit. Jesus Maria has a great museum (free) that provides a more in-depth background on the Jesuits’ work and role in Argentinian history. Santa Catalina is worth the visit for the beauty of the setting (only the church can be visited in Jan & Feb). Overall, Cordoba should not be overlooked as an worthwhile destination! Note: we rented a car and drove to Cordoba from Buenos Aires. It’s a very doable drive on an excellent road (we too Ruta 9).
After Buenos Aires Córdoba is great! Slower! Friendly. People stop to offer help. They smile. Many places to take a bus to get away from the city. Very easy to get around without getting lost. Wednesday’s museums are free. Safe.
Cordoba is a great city for younger travelers in search of adventures. Pound for Pound, it certainly isn't as cool as Patagonia or BA, but if you have some extra time on your trip, Cordoba will dish a hefty portion of Argentinian culture. There is no point in staying anywhere other then Nuevo Cordoba, as the only things you'll want to do are easily walk-able if you stay in this neighborhood. Microcenter is truly a waste - everything is in Nuevo Cordoba, a "Brooklyn" style neighborhood that would impress even the most hardened of hipsters. Nightlife is key, so adjust your eating/sleeping schedule as such. Also, the night craft market is the best I found in Argentina the entire month I was travelling, so make sure you book you stay for a weekend! If you like making new friends and getting a taste of local culture look no further then Cordoba.
Cordoba is a great town, but I don't think I would spend a month there like I did this trip. That can be a little sleepy. I loved Nueva Cordoba as one of my favorite areas to stay. The museums are all free on Wednesdays so make sure to take advantage of that.
The second largest city of Argentina, fine old buildings in the centre of the city and well worth a visit. Nestled agains the eastern edge of the central sierras about 600 km from Buenos Aires. We were driving from east to west (from Buenos Aires to Mendoza, and although this route (National Route 9) takes you a little north of the direct line (National Route 7), visiting this historic city is well worth it. From Cordoba we drove to Alta Gracia which has an interesting Jesuit estancia as well as the teenage home of Che Guevara- now a very interesting museum. From Alta Gracia we crossed the central sierra to visit Mina Clavero over a much better road than I had expected. Mina Clavero is an intersting town against the western edge of the sierra before the long road to Sanb Luis. We happened to be in Mina Clavero the day that Jose Gabriel del Rosario Brochero was beatified in the Vatican. The church where had had worked for many years is just outside that small town- that was obviously thronged with pilgrims that day. A unique experience.

NH Urbano was the highlight of a long trip through Argentina. We arrived late, the hotel was full, and they booked us into their matrimonial suite. It was amazing. We brought our Córdobese friends up to see what a spectacular room it was. Additionally, all the staff were more than professional; they were genuinely friendly and helpful. They arranged for us to get private airport transportation and stored all our luggage until the car arrived. It was a wonderful end to a fantastic 10 months in the greatest country south of the equator.

Wonderful, helpful and welcoming staff who made some great recommendations and organized stress free airport transfers at ungodly times in the morning. The hotel is stunning. Amazing touches and our room surpassed all expectation (we found it hard to motivate ourselves to actually leave the hotel to go and explore Córdoba). Would stay again in a heartbeat. If you go to Córdoba. Stay here!

Great little apartment in great location of Cordoba, good kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Staff sorted a new frying pan when the one in the apartment was too small l, which was nice. Recommend this place, good value for money. Place is near great bars and great local produce shops (meat and veggies) and a short stroll to down town.

Nacho was very friendly and welcoming and let us in very early when we arrived on the 6am bus. He also gave us some good advice about Cordoba and let us try some mate which was great! They also have a very cute but crazy kitten. There is only 2 or 3 bedrooms in the home stay so it was nice and quiet.
