The scenery. The resort is a family-oriented camping, summer gettaway playplace with lots of kids' activities. Clearly a summertime favorite with Austrian families. The rooms were clean, beautiful and spacious, especially the bathrooms. We rented kayaks and a paddle board for the 18-and 20 year-old kids to take on the lake. The breakfast was huge and great. Walking distance to ferry and bus to Hallstatt, and train station to everywhere else. Obertraun is a very small town so there are only a very few other restaurants at which to eat other than the one at the resort, and they're not open late. We ate at the pizzaria on the resort's property. Terrible Turkish lack of customer service.

It seemed to have everything you need - like you were in the comfort of your own home. The host was very friendly and helpful after a long travel day for us- a very welcomed sight. Website is super helpful and info from the host made our stay memorable and wanting to return. We would definitely recommend. We enjoyed retreating on this side of the lake being a bit farther away from things, but easily rented bikes locally to explore Hallstatt as well.

This is a wonderful location and fine facility to use as a base for exploring Hallstatt and Dachstein-Krippenstein, both of which are just a few minutes drive away. The staff were incredibly friendly (including when we were about 20 minutes late for our check-in and a kind lady stayed late to meet us). Our family of 5 stayed in two rooms, which were large and very clean. They were essentially nice dorm rooms, each with 3 single beds and a private bath. It is a pretty location with nice views of the mountains. We also appreciated the parking available for our rental car. Hallstatt is about a 5 minute drive up the road. Because we were so close, we were able to get to Hallstatt early in the day to find a good parking spot in Park Platz 2 (very near the funicular up to the salt mine) before the crowds arrived.

I loved the creative ambience!! The authentic gypsy wagons are genius!!! The vibe of everything on their location was legitimate!! Order the breakfast!! It was delicious and I felt spoiled!! I loved hope quiet it was at night.
