Just a minutes’ walk from a beautiful white sand beach, Adventure Bay Retreat Bruny Island offers luxury accommodations. Set on 33 acres of native bush land, guests can enjoy hiking. Most amazing location, my partner proposed to me outside the cottage and it was just magical. Wallabies, sunsets, most beautiful spa and fireplace!
970 Adventure Bay Road is located in Adventure Bay and offers a lounge, a garden and a terrace. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. This is a spectacular place to stay and appreciate Bruny Island. Being set up on a small rise above the road gives the house an advantage over many other places. The accommodation itself is very comfortable, clean, and set out very well, with the front sun room being an absolute winner. Sitting in comfortable chairs looking out over the bay towards north Bruny and Mt Wellington in the distance is a great way to spend some time. Just around the corner is the Bruny Island Boat wharf, there is a little well stocked shop a short drive away, and the walk to Fluted Cape is easily reached. The garden is lovely, and it attracts a lot of birdlife. A well set up kitchen means there is no need to worry about travelling to find a meal.
Located in Adventure Bay in the Bruny Island region, What a View has a terrace and sea views. This self-catered vacation home features a garden and free private parking. Loved the peace and quiet, watching the waves on the beach, the many birds flying with breeze while I sat in the armchair eating my breakfast. I saw a white wallaby up behind me on the neighbouring property, what more could you ask for!
We enjoyed the area; beach and cliff walks, wildlife and history. An excellent restaurant, served a good variety of lunchtime meals. The fish served is locally caught and cooked the following day. The restaurant is operated by a cruise company - day cruises along the adjacent coastline, sadly we did not have time for the cruise this visit. An excellent local museum gives much of the historical background to the area and the early explorers.
The beach is great and the whole Adventure Bay area is quiet and pedestrian/bike friendly. There are not many evening eating options on Bruny Island so you need to be organized and self sufficient although there are a number of lunch options near by. The beaches are great and firm enough to ride bikes on and Adventure Bay was calm enough for paddle boarding and kayaking.
Wifi didn’t reach the cabins so was effectively non existent - accommodation was too expensive for what it was -(compared to other accommodation in similar locations in Tasmania). Signs in the cabin about being charged for extra cleaning made us paranoid and we cleaned the cabin ourselves before leaving - a lot of effort for a one night stay. Bruny is a beautiful place and well worth a visit of several nights.
The beaches are amazing. The raspberry farm had delicious pancakes. The little museum was interesting. The store handy. Don’t miss the oysters at Get Shucked, the whiskey tasting and the cheese tasting. Dennes point also beautiful scenery with a great cafe/restaurant for coffee or lunch called Bruny Island Wild. Don’t forget the cherries too! We loved it
Our family of four had a wonderful winter getaway at Adventure Bay. While it was chilly, our property was cosy and kept us toasty. We were still able to go for a couple of bush walks and visit the beach and have a lovely meal at Hotel Bruny. We enjoyed visiting the The Bruny Island Chocolate Co and Bruny Island Honey, their products are Devine and the kids loved seeing the live bees in the hive!
As this was our chance to get away without all the dramas, this was a home away from home with different views and things to see. It was a slower pace, which were were looking for...as well as a nice slice of nature!
This place is slice of heaven!! The owners went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and relaxing. It’s located in Adventure bay close to the shops and beach, but secluded in the forest so it’s completely private. The house is immaculate with everything you need, the outdoor fire pit was perfect at night. We stayed for 2 nights but would have liked to stay for a week. Compared to other accom types it was amazing value for money. Will definitely be back :) thank you
What a wonderful place to stay. This cottage is very well equipped with everything you could need for a stay. The view across Adventure Bay is just wonderful and the property has several places to sit and enjoy the view. Beds were very comfy. Bruny Island itself is a great place to visit.
A very convenient location for the Adventure Bay area of Bruny Island. The cabin was well equipped and had all the facilities we needed. It is in a very rural coastal area so it was good to have most conveniences on the doorstep.
The location was fantastic with the beach just over the road. The nights were cold but there was adequate heating. The electric blankets were much appreciated. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped
The location in Adventure Bay was beautiful. The hosts were amazing at communicating and everything in the accommodation was perfect. We especially loved the bath, and breakfast the next day was a bonus.
The location was amazing it had easy access to everything on both north and south Bruny Island and it is not difficult to find. What was offered for breakfast was simple but plentiful.
A lovely little shack by the sea with a stunning view of Adventure Bay. All creature comforts were at hand. The local store was close by. Chris was an obliging and responsive host.
Beautiful location. Our third time at Adventure Bay Retreat. The fireplace is always a winner here. The lodge is very spacious for a family.
