Featuring an outdoor swimming pool set among tropical gardens, this 4-star hotel has an on-site restaurant and a choice of 2 bars. Each refurbished room includes air conditioning and in-house movies. Breakfast menu was good value, hot dishes cooked to order - Monday to Friday only however. The breakfast buffet available on Saturday - Sunday was not so good. The 'hot' buffet items were anything but hot in temperature - bacon, scrambled eggs, etc were lukewarm at best - this was at 8.45am, perhaps the buffet had been out for some time. Cold buffet items and tea/coffee were fine, just the same as Monday-Friday. We chose to eat breakfast elsewhere on the Sunday of our stay, following our Saturday experience.

Interesting place, close to some interesting towns. Has all the facilities you would need. Easy to get around. Enjoyed our three day stay here. Worth visits to Dampier, Cossack, Cleaversville, Roebourne, Pount Sampson.
Most part of the Pibara region is boring as fk. Only travel there for work up on the mines and gas plant. Family touring? No, don`t do it. Kimberley has some great views and parks for exporing, otherwise, go down South. Oh, right, Never go any Asian resturants in Karratha, not authentic and total rip off. Western style Bar &Grill in Karratha are generally good.
Karratha is a hidden gem. It is a clean, accessible city spread out to accommodate the easy transition of traffic coming in and out of it. Entering the city from the main highway gives you wonderful glimpses of the ocean through the palm-lined fringes of the city outskirts. We were fortunate to eat organic fresh fruits which was unexpected and such a nice surprise! If you've had the privilege of eating farm grown produce that still maintains taste and texture, you'll know what I mean. Karratha is not to be missed. A refreshing visit for us, we'll gladly return here.
We enjoyed Karratha and especially an unaccompanied tour of the rock art. This was along a board walk but was very well done. You do have to get the light right to see some of it. The afternoon is recommended but we were amazed at what we saw mid morning. What we didn't enjoy was a breakfast at the Empire cafe. n I had the chose what you want dish and paid $5 dollars to have grilled tomato included. When my plate came, it had an eighth of a tomato on it. I complained and had a plate with another half tomato on it banged down on the table.
Accomodation choice was great beaches were beautiful town was very modern and clean we were very surprised at how built up and modern it was for a small northern town could certainly have spent more time here. Pleasantly surprised.
I spent 9 days/8nights in Karratha, travelling with my adult daughter. We spent 3 nights at the Dampier Mermaid Hotel. It was basic but clean. We also ate at the hotel, which caters for mostly workers, so big meals with not much salad, but again adequate. We had lovely lunch at Soak cafe and a dinner there too. The Rankin Cod with lemon was gorgeous. Views are great. We went to the bowling club for $20 bowls and burger deal which was fun. We also went on the Rock Art at Murajuga National Park, which was a highlight of our trip. The next 2 nights were spent in Cossack, which was excellent. So much to do and really clean comfortable accom. Wickham supermarket close by. Roebourne has many art galleries to check out. The next 2 nights were spent at Samson Beach Chalets, which were deluxe. More expensive but beautiful with excellent customer service. On our last day we drove to Python Pool from Roebourne on the gravel road (mostly good road) returning on the tar to Karratha. I would more than happy to repeat this trip to soak up the warmth in the winter.
Location Location Location is what it's all about and that is true, however, the standard is way up there from the warm, friendly frontage to the bedroom, it's so On Point. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are a good size and clean with everything you could need for a night or an extended stay. Coffee machine, barbeque, fridge, cooktop and more. Nice location just outside of the busy town, opposite the water and viewing points. Best value and overall place to stay in Karratha! A++

Brekky was exactly as I expected, to have full food and board in the already reasonable accommodation cost made this a very attractive proposition for the next time I am in Karratha. The conveniently located Nor West Brewing company was just a great bonus.
Karratha
Nice and clean. Hotel staff friendly. Close to town. Easy to park. Kids liked the pool and playground. Beds comfy and blankets were nice and warm but not too warm. Quiet even though the place was packed. Full sized fridge and kitchen is great.
Well located hotel looking pretty tired on the outside but rooms have had updating in recent years. Roomy, clean and comfortable. Outdoor area very acceptable - obviously money spent on extensive shade structure.
