The staff were exceptionally helpful and nice, they went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay. The facilities (bar, cafe, lounge) were great and I utilised them extensively. The food quality was fantastic. The location was excellent, only 10 minutes from the train station and with plenty of amenities nearby.

Good welcome and really nice room which was modern, well presented and very clean and comfortable. The restaurant on site was a bonus - especially the high quality food prepared by the in-house chef! What an unexpected treat.

Lovely town with everything you need for a short break.

Lovely town with everything you need for a short break. The Japanese Bathhouse at Bowenfels, 10 minutes away, was the reason for our visit. Stunning! Great breakfast at the Tin Shed in Lithgow. Some lovely short drives to lookouts.

The Hassars Wall Outlook, which is the highest Lookout of the Blue Mountain area at 1136m above sea level, is spectacular with a board way where you can have a 180 degree manificent view. The Postmistress Cafe at Hartley Historic Village provides delicious cafe lunch. The Historic Village itself shows the life of the early settlers and you can pretend yourself as a court judge. The Blast Furnace Park and the Eskbank House Museum tell stories of the area from mid 19th Century. It's just 35 minutes drive to the Victoria Theatre Antique Center where you may find some previously loved items. Wallace Lake, which is 10 minutes from town centre, is small but quiet. The native birds, Eurasian Coot and Australasian Swamphens, are easily be seen in groups. Riding on the Zig Zag Railway is a beloved activity for both kids and adults.

Due to the closure of the Great Western Highway, between Sydney and Bathurst, we needed to detour via the Bells Line of Road to Lithgow. This turned out to be a great thing. :) Being Autumn, the colours of the trees was spectacular. We got to see the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens at Mt Tomah on the way there. And, on the way back to Sydney, we stopped at the Norman Lindsay Art Gallery at Norman Lindsay Crescent, Faulconbridge NSW. Well worth the visit, especially if you are into art that is "highly detailed, technically virtuosic, and unapologetically hedonistic". The gardens were amazing too, and I was lucky to see three Kookaburras.

Lithgow is a small town, but very pretty at this time of the year (end of autumn). Lots of cafes and restaurants, plenty of food options. Lots of natural beauty to check out: Gardens of Stone, Lost city, Hassans Walls lookout. Great playgrounds for kids too. I have been there during spring too and it is absolutely gorgeous with all the cherry blossoms and magnolias. I highly recommend spending a long weekend around there.

Lithgow is a Township in the Blue Mountains that has most of the facilities you would need, plus it is on the Great Western Highway and on the train line - super convenient. The locals are friendly and don't mind a chat and food at the pub was great.

It’s a lovely small motel in a quiet area of Lithgow with a nice view of the mountains. It’s exceptionally clean, and has everything for a short stay. We ordered breakfast via motel’s website - it was easy to do, and the food was excellent with great variety. The staff is friendly, polite and helpful. I also would advise to pay attention to watercolour pictures and postcards on the reception - they are amazing! It can be a good add on to your holiday memories.

Clay cottage was a wonderful house to stay in for the weekend, it was only 13min drive to Japanese Bath House Sth Bowenfels (A must) which is why I chose this home, zig zag railway is also only 15min away. A great spot for cafes, shops. The cottage itself is cosy, clean and has everything you need. Good heating for a lithgow winter, and extremely comfortable beds and linen! Thanks ☺️ Alina

Beds, pillows and bedding were 5 Star. Unbelievably comfortable and plush which was at complete odds with the rest of the room. But seriously, the beds were the best I’ve ever had in any hotel, even 5 Star ones. We wanted somewhere cheap and convenient to Main St and this fit the bill. Price point matches this.

Prompt check-in, the room was large, very clean and comfortable. The real bonus was the restaurant attached to the hotel. Frankie's is a quality restaurant; I had the veal which was extremely tender and a generous serving.
