Thanks James for a wonder stay! We loved the unique experience of staying in a historic building and learning about its past. The room and the common areas were very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutlery, great for cooking a quick meal or just making a cuppa. The family had a lot of fun playing games in the meals area :) And thank you so much for the dress up photo shoot before we were 'set free' :) It was a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone (including families) wanting a different experience, not to mention the very reasonable price!

I know the place. Good place to rest for a few days. Close to other locations such as Robe, Port Campbell, Coonawarra wine region and Narracorte Caves area, without the big price tag. The volcanic lakes and the city sinkhole gardens are a must see.

An interesting place to stay, with some great local walks and points of interest including the Blue Lake and Umpherston sinkhole. I love Mt Gambier. I could move there. Actually I might as I wouldn't have to live under the Marxist regime that is the Victorian Government. It has everything going for it, magnificent tourist attractions (The Blue Lake, Caves, The Sink Holes, close to forest and beaches), plenty of retail, good restaurants and pubs, and a nice chilled laid back atmosphere. We stayed overnight on our way from Coonawarra to the Great Ocean Road. Mount Gambier was a large and modern town that had everything. We really enjoyed the usual touristy things and walking around the town main sheets.SonyaAustralia
