Thanks James for a wonder stay! We loved the unique experience of staying in a historic building and learning about its past. The room and the common areas were very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutlery, great for cooking a quick meal or just making a cuppa. The family had a lot of fun playing games in the meals area :) And thank you so much for the dress up photo shoot before we were 'set free' :) It was a great experience and I highly recommend it to anyone (including families) wanting a different experience, not to mention the very reasonable price!

Good location for getting around Mt Gambier on foot
What a beautiful place! My partner and I went there for our 6 year anniversary. First night we were there we had a deluxe degustation spread and cocktail at Elementary by Soul Co and the following morning we had brunch at Cafe Melzar, the vegan food at both were amazing and the staff were so friendly. We went to Naracoorte caves, which was a pretty easy drive from there and I'd highly recommend. It was easy to get around Mount Gambier, the layout makes intuitive sense and there's obvious signage. Umpherston Sinkhole/Balumbul was beautiful and I fed some possums a banana. I'd avoid going to Mount Gambier in extremely rainy and windy weather, but that's true of any place really.

Such a pretty town with so many lovely houses and building. Lovely history to the place. Great vibe in the town centre with cafes and pubs and community. Lots to see and do with all the sinkholes, lakes and proximity to Coonawarra and Port MacDonell beaches

For a big town it lacked a choice of restaurants, we arrived quite late as travelling and nothing was open in town. Actually felt like a ghost town.
Good place to stop if travelling ocean road but only need one night there!
The Barns where we stayed had a good restaurant that was still open but is 20 min drive from town centre.

Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city.
Much to see and do within a 100km radius of the city. It is a pity the the Princess Margaret Rose Cave is currently shut and there is no indication about a reopening date. The expected date (End of 2023) is now history. Direction signs should carry this information. Naracoorte Caves excellent. Get directions to "Hells Hole" and go for a short walk, Be amazed! Visitor centre is very helpful. If you are reasonably fit climb Mt Schank and walk the rim of an dormant volcano.
we staying for one night only so didn’t have a chance to walk around the property. it looks like there’s garden to walk to
there’s lots of restaurants in Mount gambier only a quick drive away. however it’s really really dark coming back to the hotel at night and it’s hard to see hotel entrance.
The hotel is in a prime position being right on the main street in Mt Gambier, surrounded by nice shops and food places. The room itself was very spacious with fun decor. The bar also had delicious food for dinner (highly recommend the fish and chips!)
Motel had views across Mount Gambier, close to the blue lake. Restaurant onsite is very good, but not part of the motel and somewhat expensive. Quiet location.
