Mudgee is a thoughtfully planned town that allows it's residents and visitors to enjoy beautiful parkland, great sporting facilities, great dog park, wide bike paths, wide roads and there are so many GOOD cafes and restaurants. For those who are self catering, both Coles and Woolies are located in town. There are plenty of vineyards to visit, along with distilleries and I highly recommend a visit to The Blue Wren, only a few km out of town, where we enjoyed a superb meal in a very pretty setting. The menu is very well planned and perfectly executed. Dessert (pictured) was beyond amazing!!! The service is also genuinely friendly and professional. On our way home we stopped at Old Wheels Grind for coffee and freshly cooked cinnamon doughnuts. Wow! So so good and these delights were enjoyed in a very laid back outdoor setting with quirky chairs and tables, old cars, a train carriage and shady trees. Mudgee town itself is very clean and tidy and all parkland is very well maintained. There is quite a creative vibe here and some beautiful venues to view local art. There are a few places along the Cudgegong River that are easily accessible for a swim/cool down and these are so close to town! It is truly a wonderful town to visit and spend at least 4 days.

Beautiful wide streets and historic buildings. The markets were brilliant and the vendors all very friendly and helpful. We went to the The Drip walk, which was fantastic. Lots of great places to eat (cafes, bars and the smokehouse) and they all had excellent menus, with local wines, ciders and beers. Helpful, friendly staff wherever we went.

It is a lovely, clean town however very little was open...

It is a lovely, clean town however very little was open during our stay which was a Monday and Tuesday night. None of the breweries were open on Mon/Tues and many of the wineries, restaurants and shops were also closed. We did travel between Xmas and New Year so except some places may be shut however coming from a regional town myself I was expecting a lot more to be open. The Lowe Family Winery was outstanding and well worth a visit.

This was my third visit to Mudgee and we had interstate friends with us this time. Mudgee has a vibe that you will feel when visiting. The vineyards, the pubs, the restaurants and the town do not disappoint.

Lovey country town that has us coming back every year. Book lunch at one of the wineries and leave time for Saturday morning shopping. Markets were good and lots of pubs to chose from for drinks and dinner

great for a relaxing couple of days to recharge go visit winerys or just stay in town enjoying the heritage buildings with a modern twist to enjoying a beautiful meal or coffee. Golf club nearby great Chinese food too! Gigis Restaurant located in the Clairfield hotel lovely warms the heart.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Woolpack Hotel in Mudgee. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The location is ideal — right in the centre of town, with the pub and bistro downstairs offering a great atmosphere and delicious food. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience felt easy and enjoyable. I’m already looking forward to coming back soon.

Great location and short walk to shops and pubs. Marg was a great help and answered my questions in a timely manner. Cottage was tastefully decorated and very warm for our winter stay. Comfortable beds and modern bathroom. Extra toilet out back and off street parking. Amazing kitchen and the warm welcome with wine and chocolates was a bonus. Highly recommend.
