My stay at the hotel in Ganja, Azerbaijan, was excellent. The location is perfect, with taxis and buses just one minute away, making it very easy to get around the city. The room was very clean and comfortable, ideal for resting. The breakfast was also delicious, with a variety of options to start the day well. Without a doubt, the best part was the staff: always kind, attentive, and willing to help at all times. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the destination.

Good for maybe a day, the main town areas are clean and nice...

Good for maybe a day, the main town areas are clean and nice- it will interest you more if you are history buffs. We're nature folks who visited the place in November and we were quite disappointed that Lake Goygol restaurants were closed and we couldn't even go to Lake Maralgol. That put a spanner in the works, as otherwise there's not really a lot to see in Ganja. We spent three days and could have actually spent just the one day instead.

Ganja itself is very welcoming city which we loved from...

Ganja itself is very welcoming city which we loved from first step in. There are many nice places to visit, but if your visit is more than overnight, we would highly recommend you to visit GoyGol and Maralgol, which have magnificent views.

Travelling around is easy and very cheap by taxi The contrast between the old & new areas is interesting. Without a specific purpose to visit unlikely this would be high on their hit list in view of difficulty getting there

Not a lot to do here and it appears not many tourists pass...

Not a lot to do here and it appears not many tourists pass through the city. Most of the attractions can be seen in a few hours. A day trip out to Lake Göygöl is worthwhile, however, there is little to do there except walk down to a lookout.

People were exceedingly friendly and helpful.

People were exceedingly friendly and helpful. The pedestrian Cavadxan street and the nearby parks and squares were enjoyable. The giant Heydar Aliyev park outside the centre was simply astonishing. The only minus side were the loose dogs patrolling especially around the Philarmonia house - they were frightening!

Ganja is a lovely city to visit as it feels a little off the...

Ganja is a lovely city to visit as it feels a little off the tourist trail. There are some great public plazas to visit and also the Mausoleum is beautiful. We loved feeling like 'a local' here and indulging in great street food as well as economical family restaurants - the food was really fabulous. There are also great budget shopping strips and malls here. We travelled via Bolt everywhere and found that to be very easy and affordable. All in all I'm happy we visited this city, but if you are short on time there are more interesting places to visit.
