Bruges is a picture perfect medieval city that will charm you with its distinctive, century-old houses, plentiful canals and city walls. The famous 13th-century Belfry offers the opportunity to watch the cobbled market place, the Grote Markt, below while 47 bells call out to the city every 15-minutes. While you’re in the Grote Markt you can take a ride in one of the horse-drawn carriages around the city.
Many interesting artifacts can be found in the churches of Bruges, a Michelangelo statue is housed in the Church of Our Lady and the Basilica of the Holy Blood contains a vial of blood reportedly from Jesus Christ. Other museums include the Groeninge Museum which includes works of art spanning 6 centuries.
Belgium cuisine is famous worldwide and the cafes of Bruges offer an inviting retreat from the cooler climate. Brewery De Halve Maan explains the process behind the beer which washes down the world-class fries, chocolate and mussels found all over the city.
Bruges is easily reached from the Brussel-Zuid train station or the Brussels Airport. From a romantic suite to an apartment for a group of friends, Booking.com will make sure your stay in Bruges is a memorable one.
Very crowded but beautiful city. I recommend taking a tour, I had an excellent private food tour with stops at two breweries, chocolate shop, cheese shop and lots of history and another walking/boat tour. Best experiences were at two bars off the beaten path, particularly Beers Yesterday's World where the owner, Mark, took the time to sit and talk with me and the only others in the bar late in the evening, a nice Czech couple. Wonderful travel experience, please patronize Mark's place.
Loved hanging out around the canals and taking a leisurely boat trip. Apart from transport by taxi to and from the train we walked everywhere with ease, we’re in our mid 60’s. Great spots to enjoy a beer or two. A great leisurely 3 day stopover taken between our two 2 week tours.
Bruges was more beautiful than we thought. We hired a private guide who was really wonderful…well worth the extra cost. We also took a rickshaw ride for 2 hours with another brilliant guide. We visited the main sites and took a canal cruise. Only negative was the fact that most restaurants are tourist traps with limited choices. The good restaurants are always booked out in advance…. it is not possible to walk in off the street, especially over a weekend.
Bruges is such a lovely town in Belgium. I thoroughly enjoyed walking up the clock tower, trying the Belgian beer, and enjoying a Belgian waffle. I also loved walking along the canal and just seeing all of the beautiful sites! I have visited Bruges twice now and would definitely come back again in the future.
Beautiful city, so charming! At night was especially magical, with the lightning. Very walkable, with many restaurants. The train station is very good to visit other Belgium cities or to connect for other European cities. The main plazas were beautiful. We ate delicious waffles at Chez Albert.
Best to book a tour to find what is not obvious. There are many hidden gems. Canal tour is good in combo with walking tour. Tour guide will teach you how to judge chocolate & linen shops so you get finest Belgian made. Uneven pavement is very hard on knees & legs at the end of the day. Beware Americans - they’re a few hand rails or ramps. Stairs can be very challenging. Bruges is not for someone who is physically challenges. No ADA accommodations overall. Drink the beer, eat the fries & waffles (just with powdered sugar) take a chocolate making class! Sit back and take it all in. Also good book store on the square. Worlds finest chocolate available.
The hotel is located in the city centre, a few minutes walk from all the attractions Bruges has to offer. Our room was freshly re-decorated which is certainly a plus, but it becomes a problem when the smell of the paint is still very strong and there is no aeration possible. Also the lights in the room didn't work (except for in the bathroom), which wasn't necessarily a problem since the days are long in May, but still not what you expect for the price paid. Staff was very concerned and tried to solve the issue but with no success

We had a wonderful stay in Bruges, Belgium! The host was very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay! Tourist attractions, shops and restaurants are in walking distance from the apartment. The nearest supermarket is like a 10 minutes walk (or less) which is convenient. The room was nice and the WiFi was good. Everything looks just like the photos posted here on Booking. Parking on site is convenient, just have to pay extra which is fine. Definitely recommend, thank you!
We loved the location! It was very close to the city center that we could walk to and come back if we needed to drop off shopping. The staff was amazing and very helpful, our first day one of the staff members helped us to carry our luggage upstairs which was quite heavy. The day of our checkout the staff helped us to arrange a taxi, which was greatly appreciated. They also did an amazing job responding to all of our questions as we had never been to Belgium before.
It was hard to tell from the website what our room would be like, but it was AMAZING! Huge, full of old world charm, and the best bathroom and shower we found in Europe. The location couldn’t have been better, close to the action but far enough away to feel private. The breakfast that was included was the best hotel breakfast we found in Europe too. And Bruges was perfection. Can’t say enough good things, this place is wonderful.
Location Is superb, All staff are super friendly and hotel is very unique. Joris met us upon arrival and spent the next 10 minutes telling us where best to eat and what to do. His information was greatly appreciated and made our stay for our 25th Wedding Anniversary extra special. We did a boat ride tour and Hotel die swaene was pointed out as the most romantic hotel in Bruges.
Great hotel with all the conveniences needed if you're visiting Brugge by car. Very convenient and cheap parking at the hotel, while the city centre is still walking distance. Tip: Make sure you make your booking on your mobile in the app (we got a cheaper rate than on PC) and make sure you get your parking ticket validated for the cheap tariff when checking out.

what a wonderful stay ! stunning garden with the best views where we relaxed after walking all day. very quiet at night since they close the park to tourists after i believe 9 or 10pm. the owner was very friendly and breakfast was absolutely delicious and aplenty. most romantic place we stayed in the 10 days me and my husband stayed in belgium.
Hotel is centrally located and is currently being renovated on the outside (which the hotel was very upfront about and even proposed alternative accommodation should the scaffolding bother us -it didn't-). Rooms were small but this is normal for Bruges. Overall a good stay in the center of town. Many good eats around the restaurant.

We enjoyed the hospitality of Sofie and Laurent. They were happy to meet our every need. Sofie went above and beyond for the Belgium style breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed an afternoon coffee on the patio. We loved staying in a local home instead of a hotel.
This is a small hotel located inside the old city of Bruges. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable. From the hotel you can walk to all the major sites in Bruges. There are many good restaurants nearby. The breakfast was excellent, with many choices.
The location on the canal of the room was extremely nice and enjoyable. The location of the hotel in the city was perfect. Pretty close to the center but just outside the crowd of tourists. The structure of the hotel was really nice and pretty
Amazing hotel directly in center of Bruges. Beautiful building inside and outside. Right next to everything. Such a comfortable bed, room, friendly staff and exceptional breakfast. We will be staying here again.
The Hotel was very nice, clean and great value for money. Great location too in the center of Bruges. Nice rooms! Staff (especially Lana) were superb and couldn't have been more helpful.
Excellent rooms, spacious, very good parking space, huge beautiful garden behind, nice breakfast, helpful staff, beautiful location and near to city centre. Overall hotel is excellent.
Really like the location as it very close to the Bruges Train Station. I could make a day trip to various cities in Belgium like Brussels, Ghent, etc easily.
- The hotel is located in one of most beautiful view of Bruges - The breakfast was good and on the canal view - All staff was kind with us and our requests
Beautiful property in the heart of Bruges historic centre. staff at the hotel were polite, helpful & very friendly - service was exceptional.
-The hotel is really clean and the staff is helpful. -It is close to the city centre. -it is relatively cheap considering the facilities.
