The hotel is 2.5 km from Manaus Courthouse. the staff is friendly, and they helped me a lot into booking a tour the room is good, size not small, and it is new and clean the location is next to 3 shopping malls, just by walking within 2-3 minutes you can reach the major malls in Manaus

Saint Paul Hotel is located in the historical and cultural centre of Manaus, just 500 metres from the famous Teatro Amazonas. It offers comfortable accommodation with parking and free WiFi. The location is very good and very near the main attractions such as the Teatro. We stayed at this location on New Years Eve. The receptionist was very friendly, good English speaking and helped with our questions. The hotel price is very good considering the price that we paid...the facilities where great, especially after spending a couple of days in the jungle!

Teatro Amazonas is a must.
Teatro Amazonas is a must. The tours of the theatre are free and start at 09:45 hours. The tour is a very comprehensive look at the theatre. Well worth going. The Cathedral and San Francisco Church are worth visiting as well as the Governor's Building. We found a very good restaurant at Villa Amazonas Hotel, close to the Teatro Amazonas. This is a new hotel that opened in April 2016 and had I known about would have probably stayed there.

The perfect gateway to the Amazon... Most lodges are 2-3 hours away. The Meeting of the Waters is quite fascinating and the Opera House is a real gem. Not to be missed. Don't forget to check the upper rooms too, equally stunning !

Visited the Teatro Amazonas, the ticket guy told me to come back at 5pm for a free tour. Check the performance schedule as they do have free shows in the evening. My tour guide recommended a restaurant by Teatro Amazonas, Tambaqui de Banda (it seems to be a popular one to recommend tourists!). I got the tambaqui in a thick, goopy sauce, which I didn't like much so would just go for a grilled one next time. It's quiet down the streets at night, but was still safe to walk back to the hotel a few blocks away.

The city is ... like all cities. it is obvious that the attractions are certainly interesting, but ... a whole day in the humid heat of the city (38 ° C) is sufficient: the best trips out. Beware of tours that offer you: the options are different for each agency and also the prices vary a lot, pity not to be able to arrange for Anavilhianas, where someone says you can not access and someone else offer just a hotel at the edge of the park national at 4 star prices! Better to be well informed, twist and turn to agencies and bargain!

Lucky to have found such cool places to stay. Teatro Amazonas is spectacular at night time with plenty of little restaurants open and live music (wasn't much around there on Saturday during day.. Everyone is down closer to the port end of town) Spent a lot of time by the pool really but in our street wandering a there are some really interesting houses, schools and parks (very pretty) and people were quite friendly generally. It was mostly used as a stop off on the way from leticia (jungle tours from there) and on the way to iguazu/ Olympic gAmes.

A VERY Interesting City, a visit to the local FISH Market is a MUST to see what exactly lives in the River Amazon :-) The Opera House is also well worth a visit :-) Be mindful of potential CRIME, do NOT wear expensive watches nor jewels and keep cameras and phones out of sight.

I loved everything about this cruise. The only downside is that it does not sail on the Amazon river all the time. But stops about 30 miles off the coast of manaus and from that point you take their boats for the daily tour. Staff are friendly and very professional. Food was great and the cabin is a good size. Will certainly do it again.
