Boasting a terrace, Cheticamp Outback Inn is located in Chéticamp. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. Guests can enjoy mountain views. We can't say enough wonderful things about the Cheticamp Outback Inn! Our room was on the smaller side for a family of 3 but absolutely beautiful with everything we needed for our stay. Michelle, the owner, was fabulous and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable doing everything from contacting us ahead of time to let us know there was only one bed and making arrangements for our daughter, to having a fully ready inflatable bed upon our arrival. Michelle even gave our daughter a "welcome gift" and we were all touched by her super friendly personality and hospitality. Our room was beautiful, spotless and oh so comfortable! We highly recommend Michelle and her Inn to anyone traveling on Cape Breton!

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Cape Breton's Highlands National Park, Cornerstone Motel is located in Chéticamp. Free WiFi access is available. This is a lovely little motel on the edge of the National Park. It is a short 5min drive from the main town. The owners are absolutely fabulous and make the place - they offered us loads and loads of really great info, recommending walks and places to stop to make the most of the Cabot Trail. Best of all they booked us dinner on the night we arrived at a great restaurant and organised for us to have a sea view table and get picked up by the restaurant. The owners go above and beyond to make your stay excellent.
Boasting views of the ocean and mountain from their guestrooms, the Yellow Sidecar Bed and Breakfast offers free Wi-Fi access throughout and a daily breakfast. Our stay was absolutely perfect. HI-Cabot Trail Hostel offers accommodation in Pleasant Bay. This hostel has a 10 bed co-ed dormitory and 3 private rooms. Guests have access to shared bathroom facilities. Dawn was the BEST host. So welcoming, knowledgable, friendly, engaged and really the local expert. She knew the answer to every question and if she didn't she would find it for you. (No need to google!) She takes the time to make not only your stay at the hostel but the rest of your trip fantastic. Can't wait to come back and visit.
We have only stayed in Cheticamp during off season but it remains one of our favorite places to visit. It is obvious the area really caters to the visitors and it is a must see place. Plenty to do. Cheticamp Island is great for views back to Cheticamp.
We stayed at Laurie's motor inn. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice as well as clean. We ate at the Harbour Restaurant and the food was delicious with friendly staff. Children are welcome.
Beautiful little town close to entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Good amenities for a small town Easy to get around because the town is basically on main road. Enjoyed delicious crab dinner (they also have lobster) for a reasonable price. Service very good as well. For breakfast we got pastries at the bakery one morning and the second we went to the Happy Clam. Both very good options.
Still believe that the best way to explore the Cabot Trail is to go clockwise, starting at Cheticamp. The village itself appears to be authentic, not the least bit twee, but still uniquely scenic. I wish I had known about Cape Breton Clay earlier, as the pottery looks spectacular.
Disappointed in the Auberege Suites, not worth the monies charged especially towards off season. Noise level being under the bar and restaurant should have been upfront????? 13 stairs to climb up and down.
Nice little town with a beautiful church. It is a good starting point to explore the Cape Breton. We only went to dinner once to Gabrielle's. this was the most overpriced restaurant of our 12 day trip and the food was not even fresh. Very disappointing.

Location of the suites is unbeatable, close to Co-op food mart, best restaurant across the street. 7 minutes drive to Cape Breton National Park. One big highlight is the renovation of the suites. We stayed in Oceanview for 4 nights, fully equipped kitchen with plates, water, pots and pans. The renovation brings new life to the suites with everything nice and clean. I am recommending this suites to all people visit Cape Breton.

Such a cute and cozy spot with a wrap around porch right across from the ocean! The house is so quant, and the rooms were comfortable. We loved the little breakfast nook and home made bread and muffins provided. There is not a ton to do in Cheticamp itself, other than whale watching and the gypsum mines, but it is a great halfway point between a lot of destinations (skyline trail, margaree, chimney corner etc)

We had an amazing room - under the restaurant - which closes at 9 - so no noise issues - on the boardwalk - overlooking the harbor and Cheticamp Island - stunning sunsets - see the attached photos - upstairs rooms also available - but this one offered a private little porch where we could look at the view and talk to locals taking their dogs for walks on the boardwalk

Fantastic property all around. Easy check-in with amazing owners who were very attentive to make sure we had everything we needed. Tons of easy parking and beautiful rooms with new patio directly in front of room. This inn is under five minutes drive on a paved road to the main street along the waterfront in Cheticamp where there are tons of great restaurants.
