We arrived early and our designat d room was not ready, so Roger, on the front desk upgraded us to a king suite at no charge. It was so nice of him and the hotel, and the entire stay was like that. Accommodations and aiming to please! If you are going to Ga dear, stay there. Food next door at Jungle Ji,s was also awesome, and attached right to the hotel!

The airport museum is well organized and worth a trip. People were helpful and friendly. I would have liked to visit unique geological sites, but had insufficient time. It was difficult to find a place for dinner Sunday evening. It appeared that MacDonald's and a bar were the only places open.
We were just staying here to break up a long drive from St. John's to Gros Morne. We managed to visit a lovely memorial to USAirborne 101 . The Silent Witness is a very touching memorial to victims ofCanada's worst air disaster. Peacekeepers from Kentucky returning home from Egypt.
Only your NFLD weather, cooler than we expected, windy. Had trips planned and booked, some cancelled due to packed ice in many of bay areas. We did after a few cancelled trips get out to see awesome icebergs in Twillingate.
It was too late in the season so just about everything touristy was closed. It is truly a lovely area and certainly worth seeing. The fall foliage was beautiful. Gander is not a big city but it has more than enough of everything you need. It was easy to get around, no traffic and the people were all very friendly. It was kind of nice because it seemed like nobody was in a big hurry and most drivers were actually curteous. Returning sometime when everything is still in season (and open) is now a consideration and that would include including heading up to Twillingate for a boat tour (whale watching, puffins), and maybe even a visit to Fogo Island. If you are a hunter this entire area would be paradise.
We chose to stay in Gander because it was mid-island and we were looking for a place to stay while traveling from St. John's to Norris Point. We were pleased that there were multiple locations to choose from for our meals. There isn't much at the mall, but we were also able to get some needed items at the Walmart.
Nothing to do here, just an overnight stop because we were tired. Worst pizza we ever had and we aren't hard to please! Do not go to pizza delight! Try Greco or Louis Gees which were recommended.

Drove in May long weekend & most restaurants were closed on Sunday. The staff provided us with some ideas. Because of the wind & rain, had dinner near the hotel & room very comfortable (with offer of pillow selection -- nice extra touch). Having been on the road for over a week, it was nice to do some laundry & get ready for our next week of travelling. Had good breakfast & staff very friendly.

This hotel really doesn't look like much from the outside, however, we were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was very nicely renovated with comfortable beds, nice linens, and a nice bathroom. The other nice surprise is the continental breakfast which is included with your stay. Our server was very friendly, and the hot breakfast was great.

Our room had an entry from the parking lot and that was so handy to carry in luggage and leave. It also had a door to walk through the hotel. Breakfast was cheaper for guests. The room was good I would stay again.

Fantastic hotel. Great staff, clean, accessible and very well priced. The front parking lot is being re done so parking is a bit annoying. The staff was very apologetic, before we even brought it up.
