Located along Highway 1, this hotel is just 2 minutes’ walk from Firefighters Museum of Nova Scotia & National Exhibition Center. It features on-site dining and an indoor pool. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. While some furnishings could use an update, the overall appearance and maintenance of the hotel was excellent. I especially liked that they had four different pillows, with varying degrees of firmness, ensuring a comfortable sleep. The bed and blankets were good quality and super comfortable.
This Nova Scotia hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from Yarmouth Harbor and 1.2 mi from the Ferry terminal. It features an outdoor pool and offers free Wi-Fi in every room. Easy to find at the end of the day and only a couple of blocks from ferry terminal - perfect for early morning departure. Breakfast was excellent and we appreciated the metal utensils plus China plates and bowls. Early morning staff were very helpful, cheerful and happy to chat with guests. Very comfy beds, quiet AC that adjusted easily, great shower. We were downstairs at the back and our room was very quiet
Voyageur Motel is 3.1 mi from the town center of Yarmouth. It features free WiFi access throughout, on-site laundry facilities and spacious rooms. This was a very comfortable and clean place to stay - the staff are all very helpful and cheerful. A great place to use as a home base while exploring the area, or for a stop before/after ferry. Would definitely stay here again.
Featuring rooms with a lake view, this motel is located in Yarmouth. The Cat Ferry is 8 minutes’ drive away. Free WiFi access is available. Cable TV is featured in rooms at El Rancho Motel. It's a great place if your looking for a place to flop for the night. We came in on The Cat and he was up with smiles to greet us and get us a room. He was also up in the morning to give us coffee and talk about what I required for the next journey. Shower was good, beds are okay, but realize, this is a Motel not a 5 Star resort. Great value for nights stay and welcoming to Nova Scotia.
Offering a barbecue and terrace, Richmond Highland Farm is located in South Ohio, in the Nova Scotia Region, 29 mi from Weymouth. Free private parking is available on site. Place is cosy with charm. It is well equipped for anything you may need. The country location is quiet with wonderful fresh air. It would be very easy to stay here for several days making this your base for the surrounding area.
We stayed at Lakelawn, which was only 3 min from the ferry. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations. Not only is it clean and has everything to make your stay pleasant, but the owner is customer friendly and goes out of his way to make sure his clients are happy. Never seen such good service, was really impressed!
Went to Yarmouth, as Cat Ferry came in there. We drove around Nova Scotia, saw many things! Favorite place was Peggys Cove lighthouse area! Really liked seeing the minus tide. People are very friendly!
Got off the ferry here. Very beautiful and rural area. However no night life at all, got of the ferry at 21:00 on a Friday and place was a ghost town. The only food open was McDonald's. Pretty place lots of nice walks and friendly people.
Yarmouth is a working fishing Harbour with a good mix of restaurants , museums and sightseeing activities. It is a great jumping off point for exploring southern NS. Have been here years before and noticed an improvement and renaissance of the city. Good sidewalks, waterfront walkway , services like banks plus an awesome regional medical center add to its value as tourist worthy city. The Cat ferry from Portland Me makes it easy to get to Yarmouth. All Yarmouth needs is more options for breakfast. Lots of great seafood options in town.
Arrived at 8 PM after driving mostly coast road from Halifax. Went there to take morning car ferry to Portland early next morning. Couldn't locate decent restaurant at that hour. Mostly fast food locations.
The Cape Forchu Lightstation and the Leif Erickson Trail were fantastic. Venturing to the Bunker Island Lighthouse was an adventure. We had dinner at Marcos that was very good. Yarmouth is easy to navigate. We stayed at the Voyageur and Best Western in the safest part of the area.

There is a dinner next store that although they didn't open until 10:30 had good food at reasonable prices. Just down the road in the opposite direction is another restaurant that served great cheap breakfasts. The area was quiet. We were there for a car show and the owners offered us a garden hose to wash our cars. If we didn't have any rags they told us to go to the office and they would give us some.

The property was in close proximity of everything you may want to take in . Can walk to the downtown area. Was hesitant to eat breakfast because usually hotel food is bad. We did go for breakfast and it was the best we had on our vacation, and we were in and out of many hotels! The beds were so comfortable.

Loved the wood (vinyl?) floors. Feels cleaner than carpet and rare for hotels in my experience. 1.2 mile from the ferry was great & lots of shops & restaurants within walking distance. Cute town. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
