It is a beautiful hotel to stay in if you are visiting Douala. No cash money exchange available in the hotel Bring your slippers cause none is given to you unless you’re in a suite. Bring your little cartons of milk, cause none supplied in the rooms.

I attained the objective of my visit.

I attained the objective of my visit. But for the poor hygiene and sanitation at the Hotel Sawa, all other things were very good. Dinner at the Gemi Wing restaurant was excellent. I can easily move around Douala because of the availability of different transport options. On my net visit, I will avoid the Sawa Hotel

Douala is the life wire of the Cameroon economy, with lots...

Douala is the life wire of the Cameroon economy, with lots businesses centered here. It is easy to get around with yellow taxi, taxi from your hotel or using a mobile app to get a taxi. The town is at the sea bed of the atlantic ocean and the wouri river, heavy rainfall, hot and humid weather! Akwa, where my hotel was located, was not clean at all, especially at Boulevard Ahmadou Ahidjo. The streets had not been swept and refuse dump every where.

The house was dusty and the fridge dirty.

The house was dusty and the fridge dirty. The sheet were of the same as what was advertised hence not changed. The electricity is prepaid and i have to pay for that. I later noted that under the bed was never swept. ( see picture). They were cockroaches in the bathroom. Overall the state of the place was so dirty and not worth the money paid.

The staff were super helpful on my arrival even though I was delayed by two hours. The receptionist showed me where the ATM, the supermarket and MTN were. The apartment that I was in met all my needs. The next day the host assisted me in setting up Yangos, the local uber app for arranging for a driver to the bus station. I will definitely be staying here again when I am back in Douala in a few weeks.

The location is wonderful. The apartment is located in a residential area and is very accessible. It is close to the airport, hence ideal for travelers. Equally close to the Douala grand mall, hence ideal for shopping. No need to go to the CT for shopping.

They had a gym which was a nice surprise. The hotel is in a great location. A free Airport shuttle is available. The manager listened to our complaints as we wanted to express our disappointment and hope for major improvements.
