We absolutely loved everything about our stay at Yann Boutique Hotel. The design is stunning - every detail felt intentional, from the architecture to the décor. The apartment is in a building above a shopping mall. This was very convenient because the shopping mall has a supermarket, a food court, several very nice restaurants (including one that's very popular and highly in demand, and an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant), and shops for tea and snacks. The apartment building is a short walk away from the old town which is very charming. The apartment itself is very comfortable and spacious, and boasts an impressive view of a park, the surrounding hills and the city walls of the old town. Ms Han was very helpful and friendly. She met us at the apartment when we arrived and patiently explained everything. Knowing that we wanted to visited the tourist sights nearby, she offered to drive us there (and on the day, she even brought local breakfast for us to sample). We were most impressed by her warm hospitality, which really stand out on our whole trip. Thank you Ms Han. We hope to visit Datong again.

A cultural heritage city like no other.

A cultural heritage city like no other. You can truly appreciate China's incredible history and fabulous local cuisine. The stone carvings in the caves take you back to previous dynasties and display the rich history of China. Better to view the caves on a non-holiday weekend. We went there along with 27,000 other people.

It was ok. The grottoes were amazing.

It was ok. The grottoes were amazing. Take a taxi there and back. It's worth the convenience. Would I go back again? No. Am I glad I went? Yes The ancient town is not that great. But walking on the wall is an amazing experience.

I loved everything about this hotel. So glad I picked it so beautiful and loved the whole traditional look and feel. Got upgraded to a bigger room and all the staff was lovely. Breakfast was great and wished my stay was for longer. The hotel is an experience in itself. Location was perfect and quiet and the wine room and little museum was just unexpected. Very elegantly done. The decor at reception area was just gorgeous, tastefully done. The fruit and nibblies basket and toiletrie pack were nice touches. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

The room is big and spacious. The breakfast has lots of variety. There are many restaurants nearby the hotel. The hotel is just located outside the old town, so it will be not so crowded as the old town. The hotel provided complimentary cold drinks in the hotel room fridge. Great to enjoy a cold drink after a long walk outside.

The hotel / rooms are clean and have beautiful decorations and design of local culture with plenty of ancient artefacts. The location is very central. The manager Bella speaks very good English and was helpful for planning our visits. The price/quality is fair, and we would recommend staying in this hotel.

The hotel is very comfortable with big new rooms. The location is good and staff is very nice. They even helped us to get a driver to visit the sights. Jimu, the driver, is a very nice guy who also recommended a restaurant to us.
