I loved being surrounded by nature and how peaceful and quiet it was. The food was incredible — we had six meals in total and every single one was amazing. 2 waterfalls both 15 minutes walk either way. The staff were extremely attentive and always there whenever we needed help or assistance.

What a beautiful, peaceful location. Fall asleep listening to the waterfall down the valley, wake up and go say hi to the spider monkeys. Flowers and hummingbirds everywhere. Amazing views. Great food. Wonderful staff. Comfortable rooms. One of the best places I've stayed.

A truly extraordinary experience. Writing a glowing review feels almost like betraying a secret. Part of this place’s magic lies in its quiet, under-the-radar charm. But some experiences are too special not to share. It’s no small feat getting here. Halfway along the dusty back road that leads in, you either have to cross a river by 4x4 or venture on foot across a rickety wooden bridge. Not quite as prepared as we should have been, we enlisted the help of some friendly locals to reach the final stretch. The crossing felt like a quiet test, almost a spiritual gateway, as if the river were deciding whether you were worthy of entering the magical realm beyond. It felt like something out of Lord of the Rings. On the way back, crossing that same river felt like the end of a great adventure and a reluctant return to reality. Bittersweet. We swam in the river, unplugged from the noise of modern life, and rediscovered the joy of life's bare essentials — things we’ve largely forgotten in an age of constant distraction. My partner had the chance to share a meaningful moment with members of the Indigenous community, which added a profound layer to her experience, as a Colombiana. For me, the highlight was the intimate dinners: shared meals in a communal space with fascinating people from around the world. Jorge, the host, is nothing short of exceptional. The dishes he and his small team prepared, using inventive techniques and local ingredients, weren’t just among the best I’ve had in Colombia but among the best I’ve had anywhere. If Jorge ever set his sights on opening a restaurant in the UK, I’ve no doubt it would be a huge success. But selfishly, I hope he doesn’t, because what he’s created here is something far rarer and far more magical.

The hotel was really amazing. Very spacious rooms and clean with crazy amazing views . The location itself is in mid of a mountain surrounded by amazing nature and has access to two points or miradors. From these miradors you can see the whole of Santa Marta and many parts of Minca. Moreover, one of the miradors is well equipped: it has active internet, an accessible swimming pool and a “salon-like” setting where you can chill and do bbqs. The service at hotel was really amazing. Mauricio and his Team provided us with amazing service and breakfasts. They accommodated all of our requests and were very welcoming. Moreover, Mauricio is an intellectual power house, knows every inch of Minca, and can guide you through all the set of activities that Minca offers while saving a lot of bucks in the process. I highly recommend this location if you are looking to spend some nice and chill holidays at Minca.

One of the best hostel I’ve been to. The hotel is amazing, you can take a walk inside the hotel, the nature there is superb. The view from the rooms are just unbelievable, it’s just like you’re in the middle of the jungle. You can also participate to free yoga classes and book a massage. The food is vegetarian, but very tasty as it is homemade and made with love. All the staff is very very kind and helpful, and a special thanks to Angie who is a really lovely person and will always be there if you need anything. They make you feel at home with your family. 10/10, I highly recommend this place to anybody wanting to rest and evade the real stressful world.

It’s a nice little town with a bunch of activities and places to go and explore, you will also find a lot of interesting characters between the locals and other foreigners that live there, it’s worth of it if you wanna discover more of the northern culture of Colombia and the beautiful spots this area offer.

Not really what I have been told.

Not really what I have been told. I was expecting an “hippie vibe place” but more than hippie it is a bit unkept. Try to spend time in nature but avoid the waterfall everyone one goes to. It loses all the magic and silence of the place.

BEWARE UPPER ACCESS ROAD as shown as only one by GPS Google...

BEWARE UPPER ACCESS ROAD as shown as only one by GPS Google Maps!!! Scary and if you have any incident you are 2 hours walk away from hotel... who will tell you as they did to us: you should not come here by car, and NOT via Upper Track. Use lower one at La Vittoria.... Food on site is average. Staff correct with no excess of smiles. Room fine - no hot water so better a swim in pool than cold shower 😳 No hiking trails only the access roads Clientele around 30´s with a noisy group on 1st evening

Lazy Cat Restaurant is a surprising and excellent find. Minca is backpacker 20 something heaven. Lots of green. I suppose there are some great hikes. Once you have seen a bit of the world it can get repetitive. I probably would not go back. 2 days is more than enough (of course depending on your situation and expectations). Yet another good place to meditate and be with nature.

It was an unforgettable experience walking through nature, seeing the rivers and waterfalls. The variety of birds, the tranquility of being surrounded by so many sounds, breathtaking sunsets. I truly enjoyed the whole experience and place. Will do it again, highly recommended.

Lovely place to see birds, swim in some waterfalls, have some good coffee and chocolate on farms, get some craft beer. Very hot though— stay hydrated and pack sunscreen. I would recommend this place and advise hiking around to enjoy the nature.

The view from the hammocks on the terrace is absolutely stunning and we enjoyed watching the sunset and chilling here during a lightning storm. Breakfast was very nice, dinner is quite basic but nice, the area is quite rural so you will be eating at the hotel. The prices were quite fair which was appreciated as some hostels increase prices in remote locations This is a rural budget accommodation in Minca and should be viewed as such so don’t expect hot water etc

An absolute dream. Probably the best hostel I've stayed in whilst travelling Colombia. Dorms were comfortable and spotless. Staff were lovely. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Bit of a trek to get there but it is 100% worth it. Everyone we met wanted to extend their stay. Also pool views were amazing. Just perfect.

Excellent place to stay. We stayed in the villa just up the road from the main hostel. Pool area lovely, good happy hour too. The whole place was immaculate and the restaurant was great, best steak I had whilst in Colombia, very reasonably priced too. 25 min walk into the town or cheap taxi.

The view and atmosphere are incredible. Compared to other hostels you can find in colombia it's expensive but if you need wellness it's well worth its money. I basically just stayed at the hostel because it's so nice. Food is delicious.

The cabins are located in a beautiful place high up in the jungle. The host is very kind and the food they provide is delicious and a much needed change from the general restaurant food in Colombia. The cabins are lovely decorated.
