Hotel Mango Valley is set in the green hills just outside Grecia. It offers a garden with an outdoor pool and fantastic views. The caretaker Javier was amazing. The property is surrounded by coffee fields and stunning views. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling in the area.
Located in Grecia, Villas Escondidas features an outdoor swimming pool, free Wi-Fi access and a wheel-chair accessible room. Guests can also find the Poro River running throughout the entire property.... Everything was great in the hotel. It was very clean and quiet. The staff is excellent and are very nice people. The hotel itself is located on top of a hill and the area is just beautiful with very nice surroundings. Will definitely come back!
B&B Garden Grecia is located in Grecia. Free WiFi access and a garden with mango, orange and lemon trees. Each room here will provide you with satellite TV, a fan and a private bathroom with a... This is a hidden gem, close to Gracia. Ronnie (the owner) was very friendly and helpful. The facilities exceeded our expectations. The room we stayed in was very nicely appointed and comfortable. Breakfast on their patio was amazing. This is truly a lovely spot.
La Terraza Guest House offers accommodations in Grecia. Free private parking is available on site. All rooms are equipped with a TV. Some rooms include a seating area to relax in after a busy day. I would highly recommend this B&B. The location is excellent if you are wanting to explore the Central Valley area of Costa Rica. The bed was the best we have slept in while in Costa Rice. The setting is picturesque.
Supercostarica offers accommodations in El Cajon (Grecia), which is 27 mi from the capital San Jose and 22 mi from the airport. Free WiFi is offered throughout the property. The view was peaceful , was clean , good equipment , looks modern and new!! Perhaps a bbq area will be great, but was windy
Finca Vibran B & B is located in Grecia and offers a free daily breakfast and free WiFi access throughout. The property has free private parking. The host was fantastic. Views are awesome. Nice, quiet, very elegant. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Best in all of Costa Rica. Highly recommend.
Mangifera Hostel is located opposite Grecia’s central park and Metal Church, and offers lush gardens with an outdoor lounge area, hammocks and BBQ facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Marco is THE BEST!!! Outgoing, funny, fun to hang out with and showed us some great spots when we went exploring around to waterfalls and the beach! Immediately he was like a friend, not just a hostel host. The property is comfortable with a wonderful, green patio and yard to chill. Kitchen is nice and kept clean. Location is perfect - across from the park and church, you are in the city but don't feel like you are cramped up in the middle of it all. The property is quiet (except when we were jamming out to some music), and the 3 cats are loving and make you feel at home! Would ABSOLUTELY recommend and would return in a heartbeat! Thanks Marco for giving me a fantastic end to my Costa Rica trip!
Located in Grecia in the Alajuela region, Casa Rural de Grecia provides accommodations with free WiFi. Margarite helped me greatly with my sprained ankle. She even took me to the hospital and translated for me and took me back again. I would not have been able to handle it on my own!

Grecia is a small agricultural town, nestled in the mountains near San Jose. Plan a visit to experience an important aspect of Costa Rican life: small subsistence farming of coffee, sugar cane and table vegetables.
Wonderful town, large enough to offer amenities but small enough to feel warm and welcoming. The local bus system offers convenient connections to surrounding towns. Beats driving! Allow plenty of tone to explore the beautiful church, constructed of metal, and to sit in the adjacent park and watch the world go by. Lots of ice-cream shops around the central square.
Spent about a week in town - mostly at La Terraza B&B (which is fantastic by the way - best place we’ve stayed in CR). Town is about the right size, but the population density a little high in many areas. Downtown square is nicely maintained and the farmers market is great. A few good restaurants that we found - Sal y Pimiento was the best. Got a parking ticket despite there being no signs or postings indicating parking is in any way regulated or requires payment.
We were very disappointed with Grecia... we had read it was a very clean city, but found it to be just the opposite. It's very small, very busy, and a little dingy. Parking is hard to find, and there aren't any interesting landmarks to make you want to stop along. Just better to bypass this one.
The Poas volcano is a must if you've never seen a volcano before, but it's pricey for the 2 hours spend there. La Paz Waterfall's garden was a very cool visit, with the pretty waterfalls and all the animals ans plants everywhere.
There's not a lot to do in Grecia, but it's nice countryside and a pleasant town. It's close to Sarchi, another pleasant community with the world's largest ox cart and less than an hour to the Doja coffee plantation. It's just over an hour to get to Poas Nat'l park. If you want to avoid the bustle of San Jose, stay in this area.

He gave us extra Tipps about Costa Rica and gave us even a little gift after saying goodbye (wooow!) i really can just highly recommend this hotel. The pool is one of the coolest infinity pools I have seen and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Everything. It's a fantastic oasis! We had to leave Grecia early to meet friends in Quepos so the owner let us cancel. Very nice. The kitchen is great and open and he's installing a Jacuzzi!
