Quesada is the biggest town in the San Carlos County,...
Quesada is the biggest town in the San Carlos County, Alajuela Province. It's 30 min away from La Fortuna. The restaurants have good quality traditional food and other fusion offerings at affordable prices and there's even a new, modern shopping mall, but there is one thing about Quesada that was great to learn. The tap water is the cleanest in Central America and Mexico. They source it from 5 large natural springs from El Parque Nacional de las Aguas nearby. Just bring your water bottle and fill up!! Be advised that Quesada is great as a "base" for the eco tourism attractions of Northern Costa Rica, but it is not a tourist town by itself, however, it is a very safe place compared to San Jose or other towns of the same style.

When making your reservation, ask for the biggest cottage...
When making your reservation, ask for the biggest cottage possible. Its all uphill and sometimes rainy and foggy when making your way here, and stay on the road ALL THE WAY UP TO WHERE IT ENDS, at the reception, restaurant lodge. This restaurant was a total surprise. The food and service was exceptional. I vote for Jean Carlo as best hotel/restaurant host in the whole country.

The location itself is a destination! We slept in a transparent glamping, it was stunning (you can admire a sky full of stars in the night and the sunrise will wake you up). Nature and colors look in HR. Amazing!
We woke up with sunrise lights, the glamping has a transparent roof, but it's part of the game.
The hotel is pretty far from the main road but easy to reach through a feasible unpaved road (we didn't have a 4*4).

Our recent stay was exceptional. The facilities were in great condition and breakfast was nothing short of amazing - The staff was incredibly helpful and communicative, always ready to assist with a friendly demeanor. This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone traveling between San Jose and Arenal, providing a perfect blend of comfort, service, and convenience.
