You are given a unit to yourself, which is basically a double story house. There is a TV and kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The shower and bathtub were both quite fancy with various settings and great water pressure. The windows all had the automatic outside blinds which assisted in keeping the room dark and at a good temperature. It was also close to city centre, which was great as we walked everywhere.

Hotel was nice, the room pretty small. Had a room with two beds but there was not room enough to make space between them, so they were just one big bed. The check-in took forever compared to every hotel I have tried, as they needed a lot of information to rent out a parking spot. Plus city tax was added to the hotel fee and had to be paid in cash. The restaurant had the fastest service on the other hand almost ninja fast 🥷 Breakfast was everything I could imagine, there was even wine chilling next to the milk!

The hotel is not only perfectly located (opposite the Rathaus and on the marketplace), it also has a large parking (both inside and outside). The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a highlight by uts quality and variety. The restaurant was excellent as well. Our room was large (family) and quiet, the bathroom as large and with enough towels for everyone and more. The facilities were very clean, We had a wonderful stay at the Weißer Hirsch and we're very happy with our choice of hotel and city. Wernigerode is absolutely charming.

A great starting point for excursions and hikes.

A great starting point for excursions and hikes. Wernigerode, with its beautiful old town and castle, is very close. From there, you can also take the steam train up the Brocken mountain. Easily accessible attractions also include: the Rosstrappe, the Hexentanzplatz (Witches' Dance Floor), the Teufelsmauer (Devil's Wall), the Titan suspension bridge, stalactite caves, and much more. The town of Quedlinburg (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is also very beautiful.

Unlike Wernigerode, Darlingerode is a small village, but unlike the town of Wernigerode, in Darlingerode you definitely have peace and quiet and a truly relaxing holiday destination as a model.

It was a really beautiful city - especially in the old town.

It was a really beautiful city - especially in the old town. Many winding roads and alleys. Beautiful nature and forest with lots of hiking opportunities. Shopping options included the local butcher, which was really good. There was also a local baker, as well as shopping options in Netto where there was also a baker.

This location is very central, and Wernigerode is just 5...

This location is very central, and Wernigerode is just 5 minutes away. It's a beautiful town, and a visit to Wernigerode Castle is a must. There are lovely streets for strolling and relaxing in cafes or restaurants. The Rappbode Dam and the Brocken mountain also made for a very enjoyable day trip.
