Gorlitz is a small city with a countryside atmosphere & there's also a lot of history to the city & area around it. Shopkeepers were very friendly & open; my favorite place to eat is called 'The Gorlitzer'--fantastic food & service! There is a bus line & trams to get around the city although walking can be the best mode of traveling.

Görlitz and the neighbouring Zgorzelec are such beautiful...
Görlitz and the neighbouring Zgorzelec are such beautiful towns. Lovely architecture and pretty natural settings. Great for bike riding in the towns and along the river. Both towns were very quiet, even on a Saturday. Easy connection between the towns via three bridges.

The historic center of Görlitz is stunning.
The historic center of Görlitz is stunning. While it's not that big a city, there are numerous streets full of elegant buildings, and one can happily stroll aimlessly and stumble upon plenty that is worth seeing. Public transport nerds like me will be glad to see the city trams gliding around the center; I was going to take a ride just for fun, but the weather was so nice it was hard to not want to spend the whole day walking around! The footbridge over the river to Poland leads to a town with a rather different feel, that makes an interesting contrast.
Food wise, Görlitzer Kartoffelhaus was by far the standout meal I had in the city, and is lovely inside. The bakery just a few doors down from it was a nice place for a morning coffee and slice of cake too.

An absolutely stunning medieval town.
An absolutely stunning medieval town. We were the only English-speaking tourists in the town - few people have discovered this little gem.
A charming, incredibly well-preserved town. One of the very few that avoided any damage during the war. Full of cobblestone streets - it's incredible at night. The entire town is lit by traditional street lamps and is very atmospheric.
We stayed for 3 nights (which was just about right). Top tip - use Chat-GPT and upload photos and ask it to describe what you see and the history of the town. Terrific source of background and history.

A beautifully preserved historic city.
A beautifully preserved historic city. The tour of the hall house was very interesting. We had lunch at the Kartoffelhaus restaurant, The service was fast, we liked it very much. I have nothing to complain about.

I did not have too much time to walk around for sightseeing...
I did not have too much time to walk around for sightseeing as I was on work trip but from what I saw it is one beautiful city with a beautiful old town. I really wanted to stay one day more and if I had a chance I will go back.

Very clean and modern. The flats are very well equiped, the bedding very good. The hotel has a common room with kicker and table tennis. The staff is very nice. Everything is clean and well organised. Perfect also for groups. The location is atbthe border of the old tiwn area, everything can be done on foot.

Hotel is located in a very beautiful and quiet location. Loved the decorations and furnitures. Very polite and helpful staff. Parking is 3 mins walk - might be a bit full if you arrived after 9 pm. Clean rooms with everything you need for your stay, toiletries, bath robes, mini bar etc.
