Theres a little seating area outside the front of the hotel to enjoy a coffee,wine etc bought from the bar. A walk into the centre of town is 10 minutes. Take the walk along the tree lined path just outside the hotel into town away from the traffic. There are a few really good restaurants 5 minutes away .

Gottingen is a lovely town and very easy to negotiate.
Gottingen is a lovely town and very easy to negotiate. We drove from Frankfurt and there was plenty of parking everywhere including near the university and city centre. There are a diverse range of restaurants and shops in the city.
Plenty of places to sit out and have drinks, ice cream of coffee and people watch.

I was only in the charming historical part of the time.
I was only in the charming historical part of the time. There were few cars and a very free feeling as people were on foot and riding bicycles. I could go everywhere I wanted to go on foot. However, I never came across a city map which could have kept me from getting lost. The buses were very quiet. The cuisine was varied and well-prepared. I ate all my meals in the Gao Indian restaurant on Kurze Geismar Strasse because it was the best Indian restaurant I have ever experienced. I didn't visit any sites because I was doing research in the university's archives.

Attractive old houses in the town centre, the market place...
Attractive old houses in the town centre, the market place with the "Goose Girl" statue, you can walk around the city wall, two free botanical gardens are worth a visit. It's compact enough to walk around, or the buses are reliable. Around the town the woods are lovely, lots of paths, full of beautiful wild flowers in spring, green and peaceful in the summer. I saw red squirrels! If you're looking for a friendly church I recommend the Baptisten Gemeinde in Burgerstrasse (Sundays at 10.30 am).

They cheated us for our money! Very bad service!
They cheated us for our money! Very bad service! We were late for the check in, because of the traffic. The owner would not wait an hour for us to come and told us to find another hotel. They charges us anyway and will not give us any of our money back. Worst service ever! Worst experince ever! Do not book this hotel

Exceptional hotel, everything was just on a superb level. The room was spacious, clean, well designed, and the sitting area of the room was very comfortable. The breakfast was just great, with many various options, a very good choice of tea and nice coffee. The view from the breakfast room is very nice! The hotel is rather far from the city centre of Göttingen, but it has a good connection to the Nord Campus of the University, so it was very convenient for us.

Possibly the nicest and most welcoming hotel we have stayed at in Germany. Comfortable rooms in a nice setting. Impressive attention to details, from bottled water to complimentary dog snacks :) Also located in the centre of Göttingen which is a place well worth a visit.

The hotel was a good deal for the money. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was good. It is not too far from the old town, especially if you travel by car; otherwise, there is a good public transport connection.

The hotel is cozy, very nice, and old fashioned in the good sense, it has a great lobby with AC and all amenities needed. The aged lady in the reception was the most kind and generous!
