To sum it up: Liked EVERYTHING! This rating comes from a 100% German that's very picky ....! 1. Hotel Facilities and Room were very clean! 2. Room itself was beautiful (down to the smallest details!) with an attached balcony and fabulous view, there was even a table with an ashtray and chairs on the balcony! 3. Dining Rooms (yes, there are more than one!) have a great cozy set up! The awesome self-serve breakfast included freshly cut German Cheese and Wurst, just baked German Bread and Rolls, Cereals, German Jelly and Pastries. Besides regular Coffee, there is also Cappuccino, Latte, Tea and Milk to choose from! 4. The evening of our arrival, we had an awesome dinner in the Hotel Dining Room. The dinner was prepared by the Italian Owner of the Hotel that is also a Chef! I noticed, that there were lots of Guests there just to eat dinner, which requires reservations for people not staying in the hotel. The Menu features great, mostly Italian Specialties - the dining room was full of people and that on a Thursday evening! 5. Reception: The area was very clean and pleasantly set up / decorated. The Receptionists were very friendly with a "no hassle -" and make you feel "like you are family" attitude! Overall, I must say, that, in my opinion, this Hotel really deserves the Award that it received for this year! Salute!

We had the perfect stay. Close to the castle, big and comfortable family room. Our kids were very enthusiastic about the family room. It was more like an appartement with 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Breakfast was really good. Staff super friendly. Clean and a beautiful view. I would highly recommend this stay..

Modern, exceptionally clean and comfortable apartment which is very well equipped and has quality furnishings. On a quiet residential street and has lovely views. Very cheerful welcome from Timm who offered great advice about where to park whilst visiting the castles/lake.

I liked the view from my suite of schloss neuschwanstein which was seen from our balcony. The owner Annette was very welcoming ,provided a lot of local information and especially Sabine who made our stay very comfortable,and offered take away coffee for our road trip. The parking was very easily accessible and spacious and even after checkout they allowed us to keep our car in the parking

Wish we could stay longer.

Wish we could stay longer. Best location, not so crowded and overrated as Fussen. Lot of activities to do.Neuschwanstein Castle castle just 10 min away, nice view of it during drive. Bike rides, paragliding etc during summer times, with the alpine views.

This is a great area if you like a quiet village, nature,...

This is a great area if you like a quiet village, nature, walking, hiking, biking, swimming in nearby lakes. My hotel, Alpenblick, was a perfect location for all of this. Having a car helps, but there are buses to most places in the area and train connections from nearby towns. One big hub is Steingaden from where you can get to most places. This area is a good place to slow down, relax, recuperate if you are living in a fast paced city and all that it entails. People are friendly and helpful if the hotel staff are anything to go by.

Nice village 10 minutes from the Ticketoffice for the...

Nice village 10 minutes from the Ticketoffice for the castles (at the bottom of Neuschwanstein castle - starting point to discover the castle). Best place to stay with nice view on the mountains and no tourists (contrary to Fussen and Neuschwanstein). Some good restaurants around also :-) more local

I was here for the second time. The first time I was here with a small group of friends and we booked several rooms. This time I just needed one room. The hotel is very close to Neuschwanstein castle, but it is much cheaper than the hotels in Füssen or Schwangau. The parking is just around the house. There is a pub/restaurant on the ground floor which is very practical. Breakfast was good and rich, though, when the house is pretty full, you need to go downstairs in time. Music from the pub until 11 p.m. was fine and well chosen.

The hotel was very cute and well taken care of. We felt really welcome there, almost like visiting someone rather than staying in a hotel. The room was simple but comfortable and clean. We also really loved the breakfast, it was delicious. What surprised us was the warm bread waiting for us at the buffet - we didn't expect it to be so fresh!

We had a great one night stay at Hotel Bannwaldsee. Room was very comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and ordered the steak. We have been travelling in Switzerland & Germany for three weeks and I can say was the best meal so far. Beer was also excellent. Thanks

The hotel was in a beautiful location and there was parking right outside. Close to all the attractions we wanted to see. Breakfast was lovely with a great selection and friendly helpful staff
