A lot of people staying here seem to have some sort of mean plan. We did not, we chose from the menu and the (German) food was pretty good, we had a meat and a vegetarian option. We had some German beers and wines after dinner and stayed in a room that was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent.

excellest service, attentive and super friendly. Home-baked cheesecake was above any expectations! beautiful scenary from the restaurant and the room. Rather big parking, but sometimes its is hard to manoever with big cars. Hiking trail is very well explained and you get all support from the hotel to enjoy and relax. Sauna and swimmingpool area are warm and pleasant, everything looks clean and well taken care of. i recommend!

Irrel is a pleasant enough place to stay but for us it was a...

Irrel is a pleasant enough place to stay but for us it was a base for exploring both Germany and Luxembourg. Despite the many hiking options in the immediate area, due to injury, we mostly stuck to cycling and the car. On the e-bikes we had a great trip to Mullerthal using some of the dedicated cycle routes - you pick the route to Echternach up at 49.846152, 6.470212 off the L40 and can go via the cycle route to Bollendorf. (In the opposite direction the route to Bitburg along the Nims river begins at 49.851325, 6.458604 and goes past Camping Nimseck) We drove to Trier and used the bikes to do the riverside cycle and to get to the centre to walk from the roman gate. We drove to Luxembourg city and used the free tram from paid parking at LuxExpo. We could have taken the bus but it was a bit slower than driving. There was so much more we could have done that we would definitely like to return

Irrel is situated in a beautiful area, close to Trier, but...

Irrel is situated in a beautiful area, close to Trier, but especially close to Mullerthal. We enjoyed fantastic hikes both in Irrel (Duivense 8) and in Mullerthal (E1 hike, B2 hike, W7 hike).

A wide variety of hiking trails are available, ranging from easy to very challenging. Irrel itself doesn't have much to offer, but it does offer enough for a comfortable holiday. The local supermarket is large and has a wide selection. However, be sure to check the closing times and days of the restaurants.

Irrel is a good starting point for a walk.

Irrel is a good starting point for a walk. You're close to the suspension bridge and Teufelsschlucht (Devil's Gorge). There's little to do in the village itself. The main street has been under construction for over a year. It doesn't look like it'll be finished anytime soon.

We came for the Westwall Museum, which was definitely worth...

We came for the Westwall Museum, which was definitely worth it. The waterfall with its suspension bridge was also fantastic. Cycling in the area is more for hardcore cyclists because it's quite steep. By car, you can see many other beautiful sights in the area. And just a few kilometers away, you can get cheap gas in Luxembourg!

Very pretty, lots to see and do nearby, shops open on Sundays. Irrel's central location means you can easily access hiking trails, Echternach, the Moselle River, Vianden, etc. It's also a beautiful region with excellent cuisine.
