Oldenburg features stunning architecture, with many buildings in the Belle Epoque style. The pedestrian shopping area has wonderful stores to browse and buy at. The restaurants I went to were fabulous. My favorites were Cantuccini, Casa Vecchio, Elena‘s, Mamma Mia, and Moskito. The city is easily walkable. From the apartment I could walk in the cool of Eversten Holz (Wood), connect to the Schlossgarten and walk into the city in 45 minutes. Transportation in Oldenburg is fabulous. Buses run frequently and, when I visited, were free on Saturdays to encourage people to use public transport for their shopping errands. Oldenburg is also bicycle friendly - most sidewalks feature a bike lane. Also, there are many opportunities to rent a bicycle. Most impressive for me was the friendliness of the locals. Not only were they helpful, but they would also engage in friendly banter. I look forward to my next visit to Oldenburg, which I hope will be soon.

Nice, quiet, beautiful, clean.

Nice, quiet, beautiful, clean. We loved the Botanical Gardens and the castle. There's a wonderful bakery across from the castle. We were not so crazy about the Stadtmuseum; it seemed like there were as many screens as objects in the displays. Good public transportation system.

The warm welcome - even the neighbours I casually met on the staircase were very nice! The building has easy access and Buses 252, 270, 280, 289, 291, 315, 320, 325, 910 all transit at the bus stop at Staatsarchiv/Museum, Oldenburg (Oldenburg) Loved that the owners had packed coffee, milk, Olive oil, Salt and Pepper- just so much facilitating everything you would need to get a meal ready. OH!! and they even took the trouble of getting me an adaptor for my laptop. That was really very sweet! Bruno bakery has delicious treats. and the Schlossplatz is a five-minute very easy walk away. Loved the place.

I've been going to Oldenburg on and off for the last 15 years because I've built up a good friendship with the owner of the Oldenburg Computer Museum. I think every trip has been faultless with Booking.com - until this one. My first choice of property didn't exist ("Ben's Home") and the ensuing chaos this caused me whilst trying to find another place to stay in.

If you need a stopover then Oldenburg is very convenient for the motorway and has a few attractions - the waterside, the Schloss and its gardens and the town hall are all worth a look. But other than needing to break our journey, we wouldn't have picked Oldenburg and nothing we found during our visit changed our view of that.

Absolutely beautiful. It is just gorgeous. The Nature there is just very pretty and peaceful. I didn't get to visit the town much but I was looking forward to checking out their Nature museum and taking a boat ride.

Very quiet, peaceful, and comfortable apartment where everything was provided and thought of. Very close to the theatre and the town centre, the apartment was super clean and well-appointed. This is one of the loveliest self-catering / self-contained places I've ever stayed at, and it was great value, too. The hosts, Hella and Rüdiger, were really kind and very helpful. I would stay here without hesitation if I was ever in Oldenburg again.

The hotel was close to the HBF, the Hörst Janssen and the city center, both important for my trip. Check-in was easy, they provided the invoice with all the necessary information (huge plus!), the room was big and comfortable, the bathroom was well equipped. The air flow system was not too loud and while the heating was quite low an arrival, I could turn it up and it was warm enough during my stay.

The location, which is 5 minutes walking from the main train station and also 5-10 minutes walking from the city center. The breakfast is very good, with fresh products and the staff is very friendly. I want also to underline that the hotel offers FREE drinks (water, sparkling water, beers, etc.). There is also easy parking in front of the hotel for those who come by car.
