Medieval History and Charming Architecture
With 1,200 years of history, Bremen is a lovely city located in northwest Germany. Once part of the Hanseatic League, it hosts one of the world’s oldest fairground festivals, the Freimarkt, since 1066!
Most of historical buildings can be found around the central Marktplatz. Dominated by the town hall, holding the Bremen Ratskeller – a council wine cellar with a collection of over 600 German wines, the Marktplatz features the statues of Roland, the city’s legendary protector, and the Town Musicians, animals from the Grimm Brothers’ tales.
From there, you can stroll towards the Schnoor, the city’s oldest quarter with narrow, cobbled streets, half-timbered houses and supposedly the world’s smallest hotel offering just one room! One of the city’s major attractions, Böttcherstraße, a street famous for its expressionist architecture, is also close by.
Walk down the Schlachte, which used to be a harbour and now is an important riverside boulevard with plenty of bars and pubs, where you can sit down and enjoy the beer from the local Beck’s Brewery.
Bremen Airport is just a short tram ride from the Old Town and with the help of Booking.com, you can find many hotels near the airport or the city centre.

Bremen is a curious city of old and new. The old is wonderfully rich and steeped in history with the many denominational church's easy to navigate and explore. The city's food scene is amazing and although the bars are few and far between opening late in the day, they are enough to experience Bremen social life. The old quarters are a delight, much like York in my opinion. As a single traveller I felt safe and secure and the tram network is easy to navigate alone. The airport is close to the city with a McDonalds and a Chinese. I would recommend not checking in early as there is little in the airport. Great city to visit. I like Bremen. We go there quite often.
I like Bremen. We go there quite often. The cultural offerings (museums, such as the Ueberseemuseum, The Modersohn-Becker Museum, Kunsthalle) and historical locations (Am Schnoor, Böttgerstraße) are quite interesting. The town centre is compact and nice with interesting squares, buildings and sights. There are nice cafés (e.g. Der Ständige Vertretung (STäV) in the Böttgerstraße) and restaurants. The city center has many picturesque spots. And then there are the Bremer Stadtmusikanten, of course. You can't visit Bremen without visiting them. You can reach Bremen by train, car, bus, and airplane. Parking is not a problem. There are some issues too, however. People living on the streets near the station area and at certain places in the shopping streets sometimes cluster in intimidating groups. Between the station and the city center, there is one main route which can be a bit grim at times. The town council should do something about that.

This was a perfect destination for a short weekend. The airport is nearby, the public transport system is very convenient and not too pricey. We were travelling with a 5-year-old and we did not get bored. It is a little town hotel, with everything you need for an overnight stay in Bremen. The rooms are not very big but they have everything you need to stay: towels, wifi, sheets.... It has a great value for money Also, although the reception opening hours are very limited, if you arrive at another time, there is no problem, as they deposit your keys in a mailbox and with a code you can access them. Finally, I would like to point out that the hotel staff are very friendly and have no problem in trying to satisfy any request you may have.

Rooms were very comfortable and had cute amenities like the guestbook, the orange baskets and really good shampoo. Breakfast was great too with the in-house bakery. parking garage is adjacent and cheap @ 6 euros and has charging facilities for electric cars too. Overall the hotel is excellent value!

The location was great. You can walk to the city tourist centre in 5-8 minutes. Besides the train station is in 3-4 minutes walk which makes it easy to travel from Bremen to other cities. The Flixbus station is also very close. We extended our check out time by 3 hours and besides the hotel let us leave the bags at the venue until our departure time. this enabled us to walk without our suitcases and pick them up later.

The hotel is absolutely charming. It is small, cosy, and a very nice restaurant is in the same building. It's not very close to Bremen old town, but easily accesible by tram. Also Universum Bremen is within a pleasant 30 min walk. A big supermarket is within 2 min by foot. Breakfast was delicious, and in the Christams time the hotel is decorated in a very nice and way. Highly recommend!
