Great hotel with a great view. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. An incredibly relaxing stay. Food was excellent, both at the dinner and in the included breakfast. They even offered a vegan option at both mealtimes, which were brilliant. The spa was great, and open to all guests throughout the majority of the day. The saunas make for an ideal rest after a hike through the surrounding landscape. If you're walking the Malerweg, it's well worth a stop here to recuperate for a night.

Everything was literally perfect. It Felt like all the furnishings, all the facilities and all the service had been organised with the Comfort and enjoyment of the customers in mind - from the windscreen scrapers in the Lobby to help clean the car from the fallen Snow to the device / book holder by the Side of the bed to the reward System for not requiring housekeeping every day when not strictly necessary and of course the incredibly efficient , professional and friendly members of staff. We absolutely loved it !!! Thank you, Sennerhuette Landhotel! We will certainly be back! :-)

Everything was wonderful: the view from the window, breakfast, the food in the restaurant, the proximity to the river and the mountains. The bed was separated from the rest of the room and far from the bathroom, that is very nice. My husband had his birthday during the stay and the hotel congratulated him with a nice gift. Everything from staff to the size of the room, location, wide selection of breakfast choices and local specialities, etc was perfect. Didn't expect that everything will be at such a high quality. Loved the view from the room and the little balcony, stunning location and the building itself full of history and charm. Although pool was a bit cold for the time of the year, the facilities were great and my partner still managed to enjoy a refreshing swim in the morning. Cosy spa too. Had a dinner booked at the restaurant one night and the service and meal was perfect. Thank you for such a wonderful place in Bad Schandau - I wish to be a guest in the future.

My son and I were completing the Malerweg and decided to finish Day 7 at Stadt Wehlen (Completing stage 7 and part of stage 8). Kurort Rathen is a short train ride from Stadt Wehlen (Free if you have the Gastkarte), and then a ferry ride across the Rhine. We arrived late in the evening (after the restaurant had closed) and as we were booked for half-board, the staff had provided two lovely salads which were waiting for us in our room. We received a very warm welcome when we eventually arrived. The room was clean and comfortable. I really liked the swimming pool, and great breakfast. If I had known how good the hotel was I would have extended Day 1 on the outward trek and stayed here (Just a short distance off route), and then returned on Day 7. Lovely hotel, thoroughly recommended.
