The hotel is in the best location for the trail walks. The room was ready early and parking was avaliable with no issues.

🚆🛏️🚿⛰️ We took the S1 train from Dresden and arrived at the hotel just before 9 PM. One helpful tip: the ferry across the river is included in your train fare, so just show your ticket (which costs just under €9 one way from Dresden). That made the journey both scenic and affordable. When we arrived (on a Tuesday), the hotel and bar were closing up, so I recommend checking in before 9 PM if you can. Since we stayed during the work week, the place was pretty quiet and we felt like we had it mostly to ourselves. Even though our room came with a shared bathroom, it felt extremely private for us as a couple. The water pressure was excellent and the water warm. The room itself was clean and cozy, with a nice TV, comfortable bed, and access to a shared fridge just outside the room, which came in handy for storing our hiking snacks. Wi-Fi speed was decent, not amazing, but enough to get by. Overall, great value — especially if you’re traveling midweek and open to a shared bathroom setup.

The hotel and the staff service is great. Very nice (remote) location, perfectly fitting into our hiking plans. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is located along main road with tram line. But the room was quite enough and very comfortable for us. The Malerweg is not far away as well as tram/bus stops. Free parking is additional benefit. But the most of all very nice contact to owners of the house who werevery helpful. Excellent breakfast and dinner.

I can't say good enough things about this place. Lovely location, looks straight out of a movie. Super comfortable room and bed, with the cutest balcony. You open the window and hear the water in the stream. The sauna was great. The dinner and breakfast are a 7-minute walk away which is overall lovely (it was a little annoying at night in the dark because I wasn't sure of the way and ended up walking on the road, but you can actually go near the river and it's a much nicer walk). Reception staff were so so nice and helpful, restaurant staff as well. My only complaint is that I should have stayed longer!! I've seen this mentioned but I'll reiterate - breakfast is amazing. So many choices for tea, nutriblenders to make smoothies, oat and almond milk, I was super impressed. I wish there were some croissants but that's a personal preference - there were tons of other bread and cake choices. I loved the 4-course dinner as well. I plan to go back as soon as I can!

The place is so beautiful! The whole village plus the rooms in the hotel. We were really amazed, got so relaxed. It was truly magical.

Breakfast was wonderful, and the cheerful lady who was in charge was very kind and accommodating. The view is fantastic, but best of all- the room! It was large and decorated in a modern way with a huge bed and a huge balcony.

Everything from staff to the size of the room, location, wide selection of breakfast choices and local specialities, etc was perfect. Didn't expect that everything will be at such a high quality. Loved the view from the room and the little balcony, stunning location and the building itself full of history and charm. Although pool was a bit cold for the time of the year, the facilities were great and my partner still managed to enjoy a refreshing swim in the morning. Cosy spa too. Had a dinner booked at the restaurant one night and the service and meal was perfect. Thank you for such a wonderful place in Bad Schandau - I wish to be a guest in the future.

A lovely hotel in a beautifully renovated building. The rooms are spacious, fresh, clean, and well appointed. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is ideal; right across the road from the spa and close to shops, restaurants and bars. It is 10 mins walk to the bus station which is convenient if you are walking the Malerweg. We definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Short walk from town centre overlooking a lovely park. Very quiet for sleep. Fresh breakfast with friendly staff Restaurant with pretty garden outside.
