Space for breakfast was limited so the hotel asked guests to choose a time "slot". This worked well. The location was delightful - beside a small, tree-lined square on which a cafe and two bars served food and drinks to (mostly) locals. The weather was good, so we walked everywhere.

Hotel with lots of tradition, very nice welcome, nicely decorated (pre-Christmas). Rooms well kept and clean. Excellent breakfast, the Bircher Müesli is home-made and excellent, like everything else at breakfast. Very attentive staff, and the senior owner looks after everything. We also had a dinner in the Kurfürstenstube. Just perfect! Very good wine suggestions which accompanied the amazing dishes well. Here again very good service by everyone. Thank you to the whole team for a very nice pre-Christmas treat.

Great breakfast, spacious room and wonderful location. Public transport is available about three minutes from the hotel. Felt like a calm and safe area for a woman traveling alone. The staff was always helpful. Will definitely return in the future.

We stayed as an alternative to Heidelberg.

We stayed as an alternative to Heidelberg. We brought bikes with us and cycled to Heidelberg instead. There's a lovely cycle route via Dossenheim through the vineyards which is really pretty and traffic free. Although the hotel is at the very edge of the village and uphill it's not very steep and was easily manageable on the bikes.

The hotel staff were excellent with us. We managed to leave our wash bag behind when checking and once realising the mistake I contacted the hotel who then sent it onwards for us via DHL. We had a superb dinner the night of our stay in their restaurant and it’s probably the most dog friendly hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Our room had a lovely view and dog walking was straight out into the forest! I can highly recommend this gem of a place.

Facilities were good for self-catering. Bakery right across the road. Apartment was comfortable. Two toilets and two bathrooms were appreciated for five adults! Staff was helpful. The streets are narrow and do not allow parking, but there is a free car park nearby for any length of stay. Heidelberg is very close (12km) but Schriesheim is worth exploring - we didn't manage to get to the castle that we could see from the windows!

Excellent hotel in every respect, too bad the in-house restaurant was closed. Total comfort in the room. Breakfast really complete and of very good quality. Very friendly staff.
