Green Automobile Pioneer

Stately Stuttgart is friendly and green. Surrounding the city are tree-lined hills, while in the centre is the ‘Green U’, a series of parks and gardens that make great picnic spots.

The city’s focal point, Schlossplatz is a huge square with a tall column marking the entrance to the New Palace. Dating back to the 10th century, the city’s Old Palace is just opposite and its square is the site of the Stuttgart Christmas markets.

In the Bad Cannstatt area of Stuttgart are mineral spas, the 2nd largest in Europe behind Budapest. Just south of here is what the city is perhaps best known for – its car industry. Head to the architecturally-impressive Mercedes-Benz World for a spiralling walk through its history. On the opposite side of the city is the Porsche Museum, also worth a look.

Always something of a pioneer, the city erected the world’s first TV tower. Go to the top for amazing views. Other interesting Stuttgart attractions are the planetarium, and Stuttgart Zoo, housed in the Wilhelma Palace, built in Moorish style and once home to royals.

The city looks like São Paulo city, but the transport system, the public transport system, is feasible and affordable. The people dont need to do check-in and check-out in each trip and this turn the visitor's life easier.

First impressions were not outstanding, but slowly I began to enjoy it more and more. I wish I had more time to explore the cultural events in the city. I was able to visit the museum -- great collection! I did enjoy the Duke's main residence, though Solitude was a bit of a disappointment.

It's a very strange city.

It's a very strange city. The whole center was full of arabs begging and it overall looked like someone dropped a bomb in there. It's full of very modern building and crazy designs so if you like that kind of architecture you'll love to walk around. The good thing is that there's a lot of small towns nearby which you can easily get to and they are nicer to walk around.

We really didn’t have enough time in Stuttgart!

We really didn’t have enough time in Stuttgart! We went and saw a musical, wandered around Schloßplatz & visited d sad one castles. Public transport was very easy to use. You can buy day passes that allow you to travel as much as you like! It was fabulous! There is so much more we would have liked to see, but simply ran out of time!

A great city to visit for car enthusiasts.

A great city to visit for car enthusiasts. The Mercedes-Benz and Porsche museums are very interesting and well worth a visit. Motorworld Stuttgart, as well as the Ferrari dealership nearby, are also fascinating places to explore.

Stuttgart is a wonderful town with so much to do.

Stuttgart is a wonderful town with so much to do. We enjoyed exploring some of the WWII history, walking in the main section of town, and attending Fruhlingsfest. Highly recommend a few of the local breweries/biergartens. If you have time, take the train up to Esslingen, which is a beautiful medieval town only about 15 minutes away. We will definitely return to Stuttgart again the future to see even more!

We were very happy with our stay in the hotel. The hotel is new, very clean and the personal very friendly! It is located not far the the city center, but its location does not feel very central in terms of car traffic and noise. We could not book a parking for the car in the hotel; but in our case (due to weekend) it was relatively easy to find a parking near by the hotel. The breakfast was also very good!

It is a budget hotel 10 minutes walking from the city center. My room was large and clean. It had a nice view of the hills around the city. Breakfast was also good and staff polite. It is not a luxury hotel but comfortable enought to stay for a night. Wifi was a bit slow.

The hotel’s location was excellent — very close to the main train station, which was exactly what we needed. The main pedestrian streets with shops and attractions were also nearby, so we didn’t need to use public transport to explore the city center.
